As you guys know, i have a 451 tern folding bike and a brompton. I have decided to sell my tern and is looking to get a replacement folding bike.. hy folding bike? Beceuase my flat is small.. so road bike and mtb are out...

As i already have brompton, i am looking at a faster folding bike that does not have a mid frame pivot (tern/dahon/lambo/crius/vert all ruled out).

Looking at Birdy, tyrell, bike friday, pacific reach r20...

Is it very troublesome to remove the wheels after folding so that these bikes can fit into the cupboard? I am gravitating towards pacific reach r20 due to suspension.

LOL... if u cycle more then you become less bui bui :)

seriously, a stiffer frame gives better power efficiency, you dampen it with shock absorbers/suspension, you will lose some energy.

I understand you want a comfortable ride, who doesn't :p.

I definitely need.

Big butt bui bui here. =:p

Use fatter tyres?
Considerably cheaper than changing a bike...
Was riding on 1-1/8" and my wrists and elbows were numb after pcn rides.... changed to 1-3/8" and never had the same problem...

I am not looking at speed nowadays. ;)

Saying that, a minimum of 30kmh should be easily achievable even on small wheels. But small wheels need suspension to cushion the small potholes and bumpiness.

Fatter tyres are ok, but not too fat la.:s13: Can be tiring after some distance.

U always ride off road meh?

On roads and pcn only.

The issue is that when my bike goes more than 30, the frame starts to vibrate and it gets very bump and uncomfortable. Looking at bikes with suspension, or those with steel frame for more comfort.

I vote for tyrell or reach if you must have suspension. Don't get Birdy. :D

Tyrell the ride is extremely stiff. Reach is relatively cushioned. But power transfer feels better then the Birdy. Plus its already drop bar.

the Pacific r20 is a good choice. a folding mini velo. but the fold is nor very elegant, need to take out the front wheel.
