1) Go for smaller companies
2) Be open to contract jobs
3) negotiable on salary
i got similar question also
right now in a perm job but thinking of being a freelancer. im in IT consulting
if current salary is 4k*12, then how much all-inclusive daily rate should i ask for a 12 months contract?
Got a few questions,
1)if a person has really lousy qualifications(private diploma only) but has really good experience in a bank(more than 5 years) and used to draw more than 50k PA. Is it hard to find another job in a bank? Non sales related by the way.
2) if it's not hard, where would u recommend the person to look for jobs?
Usually below the age of 35 when they first enter the MA program.

Don't think you can do a job which is in competition with your employer.
Thanks2. Then from there, how can i jump to bigger mncs?

So I'm assuming an MBA would give some sort of advantage ?

To be honest, i never heard of any of the companies you listed before. They are probably small companies.
Some HH do, but not all, depends on person to person.
1 and 2.
No, but depends in the job you applying for. Eg: You last time Accounting manager, and you convicted of crime of embezzlement.
3) No. But we outsource it to other companies to do it. The most famous company who does this is First Advantage.
4) Companies use first advantage. Trust me, they are very good. They will literally dig out everything about you.

are people with engineering degree highly sought out? meaning to say, what are the % (if any) of your clients who are looking for people with engineering degree and/or working experience?
Yes operations. Have u seen one being employed before?
Nope it is not competition. In fact it is common in the market. but i'd like to know from your professional opinion how much daily rate i should be asking for if my current rate is 4k*12.
Are references necessary?
Also, will headhunter break up a match to gain higher commission?

harvard mba has good ocr opportunities![]()
so to say, engineers with lousy/average academic results will most likely not be headhunted? regardless of the sector...Yes. But only if you apply for higher level positions.
If you apply for lateral positions MBA might be a disadvantage
Yes. But only engineering people who have top academic results (especially in the finance sector)
Yes. But usually only for the local banks. But most are based in Changi
Not sure. I am not a salary expert.
Yes. References are important. A lot of employers will not offer you if no reference check is done.
Define break up a match?![]()
Quick question to TS..
What's the job prospects of someone who have 7 years of experience in Fortune 500 companies before transferring to a local SME to set up and head their first overseas subsidiary in a third world country?
Will this person end up becoming irrelevant in the local job market because (i) his most recent employer is an SME, and (ii) his overseas exposure is in a third world country?
Thanks.
One more question.
Rank in bank can be very different from one bank to another.
example, an AVP in bank A can actually be a managerial role but in Bank B it can be a much bigger role.
When applying, how to avoid a case whereby one is underqualified or overqualified for the job they are applying for. By looking at jobscope and salary expectation?
so to say, engineers with lousy/average academic results will most likely not be headhunted? regardless of the sector...
One last question, is it true the HR will thrash the resume when they see such a lousy qualification?
Yes. References are important. A lot of employers will not offer you if no reference check is done.
No. HR will almost always see work experience first, then salary then qualifications (most of the time)
