Due diligence alot of paperwork and reports. Some will go crazy writing WOT. But actually if I feel like writing, it can go on and on.

For most, it can be quite tedious. Cos the knowledge cannot be focused in just 1 area. Multi-discipline all rounder required.

How much compensation your next company is willing to offer you is often not determined by where you graduate from.

Unless the qualification is lower: Eg, Diploma instead of Degree

MBA should get when you are already fairly established in your career

actually this depend on the company. some may differ.
some will move you to a higher payscale. but some companies differs the payscale between the private degree (lower payscale) and local degree (higher payscale) though both are in the same band or category.

some companies, unless you are being groomed for progression, the degree might not get recognised at all and staff ends up in the same job and position. hence most would look to move and try for a higher position using the degree.

But the fact is. The company is offering 2.7k. That's almost uni pay despite me having a Diploma currently. Hence I fear that I may not have much progression in the future if I do not go for private or local Uni.

everyone say is very hard for ppl who are working in gahment sector to jump to private sector. is that true based on ur experience? especially those more technical roles (eg, economist, statistician, etc) while the focus of private and public sector might be very different (profit vs policy research), i guess the underlying techniques required is still the same... do these ppl have difficulties jumping to the private sector as well?

Critical roles will be moved to Singapore from other financial centers like London and NY like Compliance and Operational Risk

Non critical roles will be moved out of Singapore to cheaper countries.

Due diligence - depends on company structure.

Some companies it is under compliance, some companies it is under middle office, some companies it is under operations.

Under compliance (Best)
Mid office (not bad, but not best)
Operations (worst, if can avoid these companies)
