Hey there! Few questions, if you don't mind.

1) Photo on CV/Resume. Yay or nay?

2) How often do you really give their references a call?

2) How often do you really give their references a call?

1) Not important

2) Once, usually after the interviews with their clients have finished, and before the offer is out. Reference check is usually done before an offer is out. Do note that the references are provided by you.

No. We don't share any data with other headhunter firms.

Even if the candidate is bad, we just keep a list and maintain it ourselves.

Recruitment agent = can do any salary level

Head Hunter = usually can only do if the salary on offer is more than 50k per year (Basic salary)

1) Base salary plus commission every month (depending on whether can hit the target or not)

2) Very expensive to set up recruitment agency in Singapore (before even start business need to pay 60k to Ministry of Manpower)

3) Focus on banking industry

4) Probably work in house in a big bank recruiting for the bank, but it means no commission :s12:

If you are thinking of working in house recruitment, then i dun think you would want to consider taking more risk and setting up shop on your own. 60k is manageable for investors, partners if you really want to set up shop.

But being able to set up shop on your own means you can take all that commission for yourself.

But of course it is easier said then done.

60k is just the deposit to ministry of manpower

Not inclusive of
1) Rent
2) Pay salary to your employees
3) Pay to use the job portals (can be as much as 30k per year)

etc

hi

i currently work on a project basis, some of my work relates to very specific SCM services (e.g mapping, network optimization) others are more general (e.g. software implementation, ERP). so I technically I do not have experience in anything >3 months so far... would like to keep my options opened in the future

1) how exactly should i count my experience? e.g. if i worked on two projects involving software implementation, i would technically have 6 months of experience as a business analyst but my total work experience in my current position might be 3 years... so would it be dishonest to position myself as having 3 years of exp as a BA?

2) is entrepreneurship experience recognized?

i think if he/she wants to work for in-house, would b likely looking at a more senior position? considering that in-house would not be as lucrative due to it being non-comm (or am i wrong on the comm part)?

1) List out all the projects you done in your resume.

2) Not recognised unless it is relevant to the job you are applying for

In house = higher basic salary but no commission

So it is as good as a normal HR position, but only doing recruitment.

Yes. Because you never know who the client will like.

Maybe the client likes candidate A rather than candidate B.

Imagine you are the boss, will you hire the first (and only) person you interviewed?

TS, firstly, thanks for taking your time to help: a couple of questions
1.When you say companies prefere singaporeans? is it singaporean chinese or there is no differentiation?

2. New citizens are advantaged(no NS) or disadvantaged(singaporean boss may not like) when it comes to management positions in IT?

3. does the JobsBank from the government really work? or are companies using it just for hte sake of checking the box that they used it in order to apply for EP (because only a few jobs from the many i applied for have transited from new to processing stage)

Thanks!

1) No difference.

2) So far i don't see any difference. Just don't work for lousy companies and it is fine

3) It works (I personally use it), but the problem is, the people who are applying for it don't have the skills. Eg: I post a IT job, but accountants apply for it.
