I have around 2 years of experience managing an IT dept of around 12 for an MNC(around 9 years total experience) handling global critical operation systems and big projects and a large annual budget, however my salary grade is not that high (due to me taking over this role from my previous boss who left and the company still has not given me his grade yet)

however, i never seem to get calls for IT management positions, even though i apply quite frequently.
anything i can do to boost my chances?

that 7-8k range is very hard to break into

(p.s-i do attend SCS networking sessions and workshops and stuff)

Guess most headhunter are like this.

A headhunter divulged my application to another coy, one that I am not interested in. Sugar coat everything and tried to make me sign up..no doubt the remuneration is superb but not what I am looking for. When I refused, the guy actually visited my office and make known that I am looking for another job..it is a foreign recuiter.

B headhunter is nice..advised me that my asking is too low. I can get 40% more. Tailored interviews with coy I like and advise career progression...

Guess got different grade huan.

For me personally, i never push anyone to a job if the person does not want the job.

Because i feel no use pushing it if the person will quit less than 6 months later (and i will still suffer anyway)

secondly is because, if i do a good service, they will recommend their friends to me.

1) Keep a professional linkedin profile
2) Keep your resume updated in job portals

These are the most simple ways

Sorry for 1 and 2 you meant employer will never consider once have criminal or conviction record? How about traffic offences but job is engineering industry which don't require driving often.

I got sort of headhunted but I have a pending traffic offences which im afraid if I were to leave my current employment I might lose my new job if it turn out to be a conviction/criminal record

1 and 2.
No, but depends in the job you applying for. Eg: You last time Accounting manager, and you convicted of crime of embezzlement.

3) No. But we outsource it to other companies to do it. The most famous company who does this is First Advantage.

4) Companies use first advantage. Trust me, they are very good. They will literally dig out everything about you.

TS,

1- Does your company practices having a resume pool for everyone in the company or own headhunter keeps their own resume pool?

2 - if not shared with the company, won't your fellow headhunters within the same company approach the same candidate?

Same as client base.

Usually employers will consider it unless

1) You never declare
2) The job you apply for is related to your conviction. (Apply for accountant role when you were convicted of accounting fraud)

Btw i am not familiar with traffic offences (I am not a legal person), but technically you are not considered convicted or a criminal until you are actually convicted.

Innocent until proven guilty yo.

1) Yes. shared database
2) No. Because we recruit for different positions
3) Yes. Because 1 client can recruit for many different positions. Eg: The company hiring IT, accountant, HR at the same time.

Do you put your candidate interest ahead of your personal interest?

Reason I ask is because, I met a few HHs and they insist in me getting that job even though I told them politely I am not keen. Having said that, I have one HH who will filter away those jobs that have no prospect.

For a new Comer into the recruitment industry,
1 - what should be the expected range of basic salary I should look at?
2 - commission package?

Let's say I'm recruiting within the 2k to 4k range.

I don't want to feel underpaid. Lol.
