No, but it will be not advisable to go back to same coy unless you really no choice because in most cases, they might not give you a pay increment

so are you saying there's no difference if I work 6 months or 1.5 yrs?

and I should resign now and immediately study if I am going to take 4 years

After 4 years of study, there is no difference between 6 months or 1.5 years of work experience (because it is not substantial enough), unless you talking about say, 3 years work experience

Is there a possibility where i sent my CV to a recruiter for a job application, she called and went through with me my career profile and told me she'd forward my CV to the hiring company but in the end, she didn't do so?

Yes, it is possible, but not very likely.

No, 1.5 years experience is not considered substantial experience.

They will ask for a job description from the HR department if they have.

Even if the job is 7 years ago or longer they will also check.

No they cannot check if not given consent, but on the form (which you will sign) you must declare why they cannot check (because the things they ask are not confidential unless you have something to hide)

They check on job title, salary, responsibilities and reasons for leaving mostly

It is not bad, but depending on which area some people might find it very boring.

AML compliance falls into 3 types, monitoring, KYC and filtering.

The one that usually gives fastest career advancement is filtering, but it is also the most stressful (there are known cases of people leaving their jobs/companies because cannot take the stress)

what are the possibilities of moving from internal audit to AML compliance in banks? are they open to potentials with IA background? thx.

Highly subjective question depending on what kind of company and what kind of job you are applying for.

For example if you are applying for management associate program then candidate B, but if you are applying for a job which does not care which school you come from as long as you have the relevant experience then A.

Yes company will reveal, but the company who does the calling will have to provide an official document with your authorization giving them permission to do it.

This is especially done is sensitive industries like financial services, certain govt jobs

Yes they are open, but usually only for the local banks and bigger companies

It will get to a point where the only AML people in Singapore will be those doing advisory work, and possibly those doing account opening

But for smaller companies they will let their AML functions remain in Singapore, but large companies will possibly outsource their non core AML functions overseas once the other countries become more developed.

A lot of people who start off as bank sales go into recruitment.

Most important if it is your first recruitment job, is whether the company is a hot desk (they already have a lot of existing clients for you to work with) or a cold desk (they have few existing clients and you will be required to bring in your clients)

For a person who is just starting out, it is extremely advantageous to join a company with a hot desk.

You must also consider, what kind of roles you will be required to specialize and do.

I'm in a contract position with my current employer and have given my expected salary regarding conversion. However, there is another company who has a much much higher budget (different industry and responsibilities which I'm likely able to fulfill). I have not reached the nego/interview stage with the new company but likely to do so before I nego with current coy. I will decide to move/stay after that based on some factors. So, assuming I prefer to stay, can I request for a higher salary during nego, even if hr offer my previously stated expected salary?

Management associate means you will be made to work in different departments to see which fit best

It also means these people will be fast tracked to management level

Better to do full time in my opinion especially if the job you currently work in is not relevant to your long term career aspirations
