Don't need to stay in Kanazawa. Can go shirakawago from Toyama. Toyama to Kanazawa by shinkansen doesn't take long.

Try to minimize checking in and out of hotels. Waste a lot of time.

Bear in mind that time is also Chinese golden week.

Traveling on trains with luggage can be tough. Hokuriku shinkansen doesn't require reservation for oversized luggage. There is luggage rack at one end of each carriage but it isn't that big.

Matsumoto is near Nagano. A bit out of the way relative to your other attractions. Suggest replacing with Kurobe gorge or Alpine route. Can access from Toyama.
Tks tks , I was trying to plan it like a circle so Matsumoto --> Tateyama (alpine route) --> Toyama to continue the rest of my trips. if not going by Toyama side i'll end up in Matsumoto as well?
I wish can avoid staying in different places but the travel duration to each place is like 2hrs +

tq , will change to Toyoma --> Takayama -->Shirakawa --> Kanazawa

Try to do your the trip in a "circle"

E.g. nagoya, Matsumoto, tateyama, toyama, Kanazawa/ takayama, before heading to Kyoto/osaka

Thought you were taking the hokuriku shinkansen to get around.

I was thinking from Kanazawa can take the hokuriku shinkansen to tsuruga, change to thunderbird limited express to Osaka. Train journey including transfer is just over 2 hours.

Just realized train from shinano omachi to Matsumoto takes less than an hour. Ignore my suggestion.

Planning for a day trip to let kids play with snow, is it better to do so in Osaka Mount Rokkosan Snow Park or somewhere in Tokyo?

If you'll be in Tokyo and the season is correct then just daytrip to gala yuzawa, shinkansen direct to the resort doorstep.

You mentioned "Matsumoto --> Tateyama (alpine route) --> Toyama to continue the rest of my trips."
And asked "if not going by Toyama side i'll end up in Matsumoto as well?"

My comment:
If you start Alpine Route from Tateyama, you can u-turn back at Kurobe Dam and end the trip at Tateyama. From there, you can take train back to Toyama.
Alpine Route will take up one whole day.

Actually Toyama is a good location to be your base to venture nearby places as day trips, e.g. Kanazawa, Takayama, Shirakawago, etc.

I did this before.

Ask you all ah

When I was driving in Kyushu I notice that the traffic light will turn from green to yellow to red then yellow to red again before turning green.
What does it mean?

I also noticed that drivers were turning on flashing yellow or flashing red.
I suppose flashing yellow mean can proceed with caution.

What about the flashing red mean?

Personal consumption or gifts?

Department stores food hall have a lot of brands that are good but not well known here. Bought some from itami airport in Osaka which are made in the region, pretty good.

No point getting those that are sold here.

There's tax free, where you don't pay tax when buying. Donki is tax free.

Tax refund, commonly in department stores where tax is collected when paying. There's where you need to go usually to customer service you process refund. A small free odd charged.

NYC sand is very popular this year if you are in Tokyo.

But now the experience at kix duty free v diff. Order and pay via self setvice and wait for them to bring out. Can't see the expiry dates. Otherwise it's maybe a more efficient process.

Usually I will also check out the shops at major train stations or dept stores, if the queues are not too crazy.
