HTR 3063 and NS B285

Hi Gary,

I didn't know there is a yamaha forum. I have an oldish amplifier HTR 3063 and speakers NS-B285. Sound normally is not too bad but the main problem I find is the speech in movies is not as clear as I would like and is often drowned with the other noise. Is it a problem with the amplifier, speakers or both? Would you recommend changing one or both to get a clearer sound?

Connection Issues for YSP-2200 to Samsung 50" UHD 7000 Series

Hi,

I tried connecting my Yamaha Sound Projector YSP-2200 to my samsung 50" HU7000, however there is no sound nor TV image on the HDMI source. I went to the sound settings and I can't see the YSP-2200 when I chose "Reciever". The following are the various connection method I tried using the HDMI cables.

Config 1:
HDMI cable from Starhub Cable box to HDMI 1 of Yamaha Projector. HDMI (ARC) from Yamaha Projector to HDMI In 4 (ARC) of Samsung TV. Starhub programs have sound from Yamaha Projector but no sound from TV programs.

Config 2:
HDMI cable from Starhub Cable box to HDMI 1 of Yamaha Projector. HDMI (ARC) from Yamaha Projector to HDMI In 2 (DVI) of Samsung TV. Starhub and TV programs no sound and image. Message shows no input into the HDMI.

Config 3:
HDMI cable from Starhub Cable box to HDMI 1 of Yamaha Projector. HDMI (ARC) from Yamaha Projector to HDMI In 3 (MHI) of Samsung TV. Starhub and TV programs no sound and image. Message shows no input into the HDMI.

Config 4:
HDMI cable from Starhub Cable box to HDMI 1 of Yamaha Projector. HDMI (ARC) from Yamaha Projector to HDMI In 1 (STB) of Samsung TV. Starhub and TV programs no sound and image. Message shows no input into the HDMI.

Hi, it seems you have already tried all ways over the HDMI Ports. Can you try changing a HDMI Cable to test the cable possibilities? You can try testing the 2 x HDMI Cables you currently have, to connect direct from your "Blu-ray Player" to "TV" and see if Video and Audio signals work. If your Blu-ray player connections works with both HDMI, then you can eliminate the possibilities of HDMI Cables is not working. Don't use Starhub Set-Top box to test your cables.

And also, can i confirm from your Config 1:"Starhub programs have sound from Yamaha Projector but no sound from TV programs." -
[a] Starhub programs have sound from YSP, how about Video on TV? Is there any Video signal on TV?
No Sound from TV Programs [Red] - Does this means you use RF Connections direct from your wall to the TV and you are trying to get the sound from TV -> ARC -> YSP2200?

YSP-2500 or YSP-3300

Hi guys,

I am considering YSP-2500 and YSP-3300 for my room but am worried that based on my existing room set-up the performance of either of them will be greatly reduced.
The soundbar will eventually be sitting on my TV rack whereby the clearance (left side) between my window to the TV rack is approximately 20~25cm. Will this affect the sound projection of the soundbar? Am i right to assume that the performance of the sound projection will even be greatly reduced if the windows are actually opened.

Appreciate your kind advice on this.

Hi,

Appreciate your reply. I have resolved the issue with a HDMI cable with Ethernet capability. However, when I play U-Tube on my Smart TV. No sound from the speaker. Do you think an optical cable can resolve this issue? If yes, what model of optical cable is better or I can just get any off the shelve?

Yes of course. In fact, any optical cable can do the job. Need not specific brand or model. Hope it helps.

Cheers!

Yamaha AV : Trouble Setting up Remote Control

Hi All,

I was having trouble setting up the remote control properly. My setup as below:
TV - Samsung UA46F6400
AV - Yamaha RX-V373
Media Player - Asus O!Play Mini Plus

The power most of the time could sync properly but sometimes just don't sync. That is not so major issue.

Whenever i turn on the TV, the AV switches ON. Then I switch to HDMI 1 for Asus media player. After few seconds it will automatically select AV4, the TV will show display but there will be no Sound until i press HDMI 1 again for Asus.

It's very frustrating as it's not friendly after connecting a few devices together.

Any help for this solution ?
I tried to upgrade the firmware of the TV and asus a few times but turned out no help. No firmware for Yamaha to be found so far ...

Thanks a lot !

ysp 2500

]Hi.. I've just bought a ysp 2500. However. I couldn't find the component cable. Hence utilizing my hdmi cables. I expect it to be of a better quality out put. But it appears that the ysp 2500 couldn't direct the output fluently. Sometimes it can detect some of my players sometimes it just hints to me no signal. I would like to know if the warrenty card is suppose to be inside the box cause I can't seems to find it too.
Back to my trouble shoot.. I tried to unplug it to fit other input of hdmi slots of my TV. Although it works but the quality of the picture drops drastically. It has white dots all over the screen and when it seems to be at its worst, the signal falters and lost again while I tried changing to different players again.
Please let me know if u can help out my situation.[/QUOTE]

Hi,

1. You can register your warranty online in our website: https://apps.yamaha.com.sg/WAF/WAFRegisterP1.php
2. Few methods to detect the root cause are: [1] Direct connection to your TV and see if the same hdmi cable has the same issue. [2] If point 1 works fine, you can double confirm again if only going through the YSP has this issue, then you may send in to our service centre and seek their advice if that's a YSP fault.

Cheers!

Hi, can you try the steps from turning on your ASUS first, leave it for a few seconds and do not power on / switch to HDMI 1 first? Your situation tells me that you turn on TV, follow by turn on AVR and select HDMI 1, then lastly you turn on your ASUS.

You need to start power on from your source first. Also, can you verify if your TV & AVR & ASUS "HDMI Control" is being turned-on? Thanks!
