How to start fixed deposit at another bank? Never used the other bank before.
Can apply online using singpass?

I think some can ,but some need you to open savings/current account first, or need to do at counter -- you can go ask the staff outside the banks since we do not know what is your bank A and bank B.
we don't know if you're comfortable with paying for cashier order /cheque, mostly likely need to pay unless they waive for you for first time or whatever- you can go ask personally.
if not free, you can go ATM withdraw and bring over if you're comfortable with doing so lor. use plastic bag, tote bag, briefcase also can.

Don't understand.

As consumer will need to transfer the money from bank a to bank b. But for banks they can just derive the value and repackaged it via derivatives, no actual money need to transfer over.
