Hi every1, need some recommendations. Need to get a notebook for my studies.
Will be using it mainly for programming, online gaming and usual internet related stuff.
Need one with good battery life and my budget is below 1k.
Will 1215b be a good notebook/netbook for my usage? Or can any1 advice which model I should purchase?
Thank you.

if programming better have a model with a lot of memory. 4GB will run out of memory very fast ... mine is k43sv with 8GB.

hmm, but I saw somewhere stating that 1215b with AMD fusion can support up to 8gigs worth of memory?
Anw, thank you for the input.

The answer lies in your post itself haha... If you don't find a laptop's ssd capacity enough, then it's not meant for you =)
i changed my k43sv 640gb HDD to 128GB SSD.

Install OS, apps like Photoshop and work stuff on SSD. Games, videos and music on the HDD. Just buy a cheap $15 HDD adapter then use it like normal ext HDD ... sure got enough space one :o

Hi all, I've encounter a small problem with my K43SA laptop. Recently, there is no audio coming out from my browser. I'm using google chrome. I have no problem with other applications like songs & movies from my D drive.
The problem exist since last week and the funny thing is, there is sound again only on Monday night. The sound is gone again last night... Does anyone has any idea what's going on? :s11:

Owners of Asus 1215B - i have problems playing Full HD MKV videos on VLC player? Mine is choppy and almost unwatchable on FHD although HD is fine.

I tried tweaking VLC's settings, checking the GPU acceleration under Input & Codecs Settings but nothing helps. :(

The AMD APU E450 is supposed to be powerful enough to play Full HD through the HDMI port. Written on the specs the 1215B is suppose to deliver full HD entertainment to an HDTV but I can't even play full HD on the screen itself.

I suppose it might be some kind of hardware/driver compatibility issue but I dont know what.

Tried this also cannot. 250mb dl and installed and restart com, than tried playing youtube and own video even HD also the video will stutter dont say FHD. CPU activity is also very high at around 70% when playing HD seems like the lack of efficient drivers is pushing the processor unnecessarily harder...

Is there something else wrong of the Asus AMD drivers not really working the HW acceleration for this new E450 processor? :(:(

High possible is driver, I remember c there's one VLC issue
stated at one of the driver release notes.

Maybe try this package v8.901.

Downloaded, installed and restart laptop still cannot. HD videos still choppy as usual. :s22::( Does AMD have the lastest drivers for E450?

Most of my HD and FHD videos usually in MKV or MP4 format. I usually use VLC as they start up fast and support most codecs, is there another player to recommend?

Looks like I have to wait until AMD releases their new APU drivers if this continues...:s27:

The website drivers dont show the APU E450!
I would paste the printscreen here but I dont know how to upload pics.

bought an asus f83vf in dec 2009.

still in working condition. just a small problem.

if the comp suffers slight bump, like seriously just a small nudge, or some shockwave from the table, e.g. dropping of pile of books BESIDES the comp, it either hangs or restarts.

sourced out the problem to the harddisk area.

should i get a replacement hdd? if yes how do i xfer everything across? not by an external hd please. anyway to 'clone' the data and contents?
