tink the review mentioned on paper during their tests, it seems longer than s3 but based on actual usage, the hp lasts shorter than s3..?

thats w/o any docking right? sounds quite ok to me leh. wonder why the review put the batt life as not very gd. any issues w the phone heating up? (maybe with intensive apps/games or high res vid)

Coldstar bro, on top of the warming issue, how about the quality of the tablet station? Any backlight bleeding etc? Heard the first-gen padfone have quite a fair share of hardware issues

The padfone 2 has not backlight bleeding issue. It is extremely fast as it have quad core + 2GB RAM.

Also this time, they are able to expand all softwares on phone resolution smoothly within seconds to the tablet resolution once the tablet slides in.

Asus Padfone 2 and 3D Games [Problem] - xda-developers

My usage above is based on a day out with just the phone.

I have not ran into backlight bleeding issues and Padfone 2 runs a lot cooler than the first generation Padfone.

But I did run into a bug. Sometimes the proximity sensor will become confused during a call and after the call ends the screen will refuse to turn on and I will have to force restart the phone.

I attended the media launch and reviewed it at Music.Photo.Life.: Asus PadFone 2 Singapore Launch.

It's certainly better implemented in terms of transition between phone and tablet.

I think I saw something about the proximity sensor bug somewhere before... Heard a software update already solved the issue. Well even the said update haven't been release yet it is still a solvable issue by a software update.

Unfortunately, Asus released the 2nd TW firmware update and it didn't completely solve the issue, but the bug has been greatly reduced.

surprisingly, the hwz review is that the battery life is good on official test but over heats and has poor battery life in real life usage. is this the common or just a case of rogue program?

Real world usage and designed review tests are different. For example, I can never reproduce the battery life duration in the Engadget review. But nevertheless, the Padfone 2 has a drastically longer battery life compared to Padfone 1.

I dare say that the Padfone 2 has more than double the battery life of Padfone 1. When i was using Padfone 1, the phone would die on me before the day ends almost everytime,i go out for the whole day. But Padfone 2 I can still reach home with more than 20% left.
