Screen size is quite okay.. I'm fine with the resolution as well.. But if you're coming from an iPad 3rd/4th Generation, you surely will take some time to get accustomed to the screen.

$1099 is the RRP. Includes the Padfone 2 and the Padfone 2 Station Dock

i bought on the same night.

No GPS issue for the padfone itself. But i haven try on the station yet.
but my phone died on the 2nd day... plugged in to charge, got super hot, then never wake up after that.

Dang.. Means I need to head down to the service centre. :/

Mine gets hot on the when I use it extensively, hahaha. But the phone is being docked into the tablet most of the times, Haha.

Actually.. The GPS lock issue seems to affect only some units right..? If so, any bros here can advise if I should send this in for servicing? Thanks!

Those who have the GPS locking issues may want to try flashing the TW firmware first. It's a lot more stable than the SG firmware.

Anyways, if u want to go service centre, i recommend going on weekday after ur work. They open till 7pm. I went on a Sat, at 11am, and waited till 1.30pm (they open 11am-1pm).

nope.. u can factory reset without sim card and it will still show the preloaded starhub apps

Based on the filename given by Asus on the firmware page, looks like the ROM is tailored to have the Starhub apps. Most likely the sets shipped to SG have this preloaded or defaults based on location/sim preferences

use till below 20% and then charge up..

First charge don need 8 hours. it is a thing of the past with NI-MH rechargable batteries.

The padfone itself will take about 2 hours..
The padstation itself will take about 3 hours.

When docked, the padfone will be charged first before the station
( using the intelligent mode)

just bought a padfone 2 today any apps that are must have to recommend? new to android so not sure what to get. (maybe for videos,music, browser, pdf and doc viewer etc?) and maybe any file explorer apps?

Video player = MX Player
Music = Stick with google music
Browser = Dolphin or Chrome
pdf = Adobe reader or ezPDF
Doc viewer use polaris which is alr included


(Actually all the stock apps are able to handle that, these apps are better in my opinion)
