I am talking about the phone, not the Station.

Oh.. My bad, I thought you were saying both of them. Well I got a flip-style pouch for the phone, so it should be rather safe. (It's found in a store at sim lim square 4th floor, just opposite to the lift) It's rather troublesome to pick up calls and docked into the station but I guess it's better than being naked though

Just a question I would like to pose to everyone:

Have you guys all tried using Android Beam to other devices?

My house has a HTC One X, a Galaxy S3 and of course, my Padfone 2 with NFC Enabled.

I tried using Android Beam to and fro the One X/S3 and there are no problems with it. Both devices also had no problem scanning my EZ-Link Cards using Farebot.

But when it came to my Padfone 2, it couldn't detect anything even when NFC was turned on; neither Android Beam nor Farebot worked on the One X/S3 and the EZ-Link Card.

Anyone facing the same issue of the NFC antenna not working?

I haven't test the NFC yet, can you recommend any apps for testing?

I noticed that in tablet mode holding the right button is fixed at taking screenshot only, despite changing the settings to showing menu. It's working without any issue in phone mode though, anyone else experience the same issue?

Another thing, are there anyway to keep the WiFi on even with the screen put to sleep? It can be useful when doing things like downloading manga in a WiFi zone while being away. With the screen on and on plug will slow down the charging process and produce unnecessary heat and a waste of electricity

yes you can keep wifi on.
Just go to settings>wifi>advance

Oo. You've my thanks! Another question though, in JB are there anyway to separate the default notification and message ringtone apart? I think it's possible in ICS... can't really remember though

When padfone2 is in padstation, I am unable to view youtube in full screen after the update. When I click on the video the full screen icon is not there. Anyone having this problem?

Me too. Cant seem to get YouTube in full screen when in table mode. Wonder if theres any settings for it

I reverted back to the old version for full screen. Don't like the new layout also.

anyone whatsapp wallpaper got problem when switching to tablet, and back to phone, the wallpaper of whatsapp will go blank everytime when i switch, any ways to solve this issue?

and also facebook sometimes after you press like video or picture, then you return, the screen become black..is it the fone issue or app issue

Bro the flip case u got is specifically for Padfone2? Or generic kind. I need get a case. HP is naked now. Feel damn unsafe carrying it ard.

If my memory serve me right the saleslady told me it's for S3, a pretty good fit if I must say so myself though. I will post up some pictures of it later for you

Sigh.. I guess I can be named the most suay Padfone 2 owner..

Was leaving for Genting this morning at 6am+ sent my last WhatsApp at 5am or so and then I put my phone to standby.. Until 6 plus where I saw it got stuck at the Asus logo and not responding.. And I'd thought pre loading movies and games inside helped.

Currently omw to Genting now.. Luckily I brought my One X as spare. :/ Any bros have any advice on how I can rescue my phone while I'm there? My cousin brought her laptop along, so maybe that could be of some help.

Can you shut it down first? If yes then try booting into recovery mode by holding the volume down + power button. From there do a factory restart and you should be fine.

PS. Do take note that factory restart wipe off all your data though! Only use it as a last resort!

Did Factory Reset, but only got the last 3 lines:

E:.failed to mount/cache (No such file or directory)
E:. Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E:. Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install

And the whole thing just hangs there. :/

Did Factory Reset, but only got the last 3 lines:

E:. Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E:. Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install

And the whole thing just hangs there. :/

Did you try doing it with a full charge and plugged in? The last time I tried flashing my firmware it failed because I didn't plug in the charger. If that fail as well I'm afraid you might have to go to an Android forum to seek assistance from the experts over there

Hmm.. Couldn't get any signal leh.. Omg. Guess it could be due to hardware fault?

It seems like the Android folder was mysteriously deleted.. I'll report this to the service centre as well.. :/

I've install farebot and tried it just now. Nothing shows up on the screen as I tap the card but there is sound though.. As NFC are still pretty new not many software supports it and even lesser support on the hardware end

farebot already declared that not all devices will work with ez link card
