Updated both. The Alt+F4 shortcut is the best. Can close games immediately without having to go back main menu.

The fans are nosier but the temps are much cooler. No performance gain though... still a good update.

Maybe they increased the default fan speeds to keep the SD card cooler in-order not to destroy more SD cards.

If you looks at the fan curve, definitely fan #1 on the left has a higher curve than the right which is nearer to the SD reader. Still didn’t fix the 3rd party dock 30w turbo pass through…

Looks very good, very tempted to buy this product but what is the use case for this product?

At home will use PC with 34 inches screen or PS with 75 inches screen.

Outside will be using iPhone.

You want play PC games on the go (plane/train)? Then you might want to consider this or the deck.

To be honest, this ally has replaced my desktop + monitor.

Sold the desktop.

Now, just ally + monitor. Take up much less space too.

Its mostly running at 10 watt mode when just using for normal work.

For gaming, 15 watt mode is enough. No need go higher.

Only complaint is i still can't change resolution when connected to monitor.

I'm using it mainly for game streaming. I have a capable pc and using it to stream to my ally using steam or moonlight/sunshine. Also using chiaki for ps5 remote play. As such, I adjusted it to 7w. Local storage intend to be used for emudeck and rom.

Why don’t stream to your phone and get a good Bluetooth controller?

Can share with me any 6 inch and above phone with 16:9 aspect ratio? I've used razer kishi and while it works with my poco f2 pro, it just looks too small. There are black borders on that 20:9 screen making it much smaller than the actual size of the screen

Update from Asus 10, July: US.

Good evening everyone. HQ has released a new statement regarding their work on the Ally's SD card reader:

We want to thank the community for the passionate response we've received for the ROG Ally. Your support has been both immense and invaluable, so we've been hard at work to improve a number of things. After confirmation from internal testing, under certain thermal stress conditions the SD card reader may malfunction.

To alleviate the issue, we will be releasing an update that further fine-tunes the default and minimum fan speeds on the device to improve reliability while keeping fan noise in check, as we know this is a concern for many of you.
