Nice ~~~~!!!!

Upgrade N56U to this firmware and yes Voip is working for lan3 port !!!!
Internet works as well ^^

Only slight prob is that i cant get HG DHCP to work.... had configure to 192.168.0.1 but cant connect it hmmmmm.... i set up N56U as main 192.168.1.1 and enable DMZ 192.168.1.2.

Anything wrong on the setup ?

No need to set dmz on the Asus for the HG256, since the Asus will be handling all the routing. The HG256 connected to port 3 is is on a seperate vlan, you can't connect to it by it's private static ip. The RG is used solely as a voip device only in this configuration.

Oh in that case HG only can use a voip and non of the lan ports can be used then ?
Hmmm oh well.... at least there is 3 ports on Asus available.

Not true if the HG's DHCP server can be turned off. I have not looked at it myself but if HG's DHCP server can be turned off you can connect 1 port from Asus' LAN port to HG's LAN port and then the HG's other ports are simply used as a switch for Asus.
Yes that means 2 wires from Asus to HG

5 usable ports for internet, 2 on Asus 3 on HG (HG has 4 port switch for LAN right?)

Voice confirm working after using the asus firmware 1.0.1.8 and using the m1-fibre preset. But is it possible to use my pap2t so i can totally remove the huawei. Ive tried every settings still not working. Anybody knows how to get pap2t to work with this new firmware if possible ? Kindly advice, thank you friends!

PAP2T does not require this firmware or preset actually. The M1-Fibre setting is strictly for those intending to use the N56U as main router and Huawei RG as VoIP device.

Reason why no preset is needed/has been created is due to M1 users without VoIP and the Huawei RG typically not having any VLAN set, and for those who has the VLAN set and need just plain internet or internet + 3rd party VoIP can just set all ports to VID 1103 Prio 1 under Manual preset. PAP2T does not need the VoIP vlan to function. You still need to know the settings for your M1 VoIP to key into your PAP2T for it to function though.

First step is , know the VOIP server login, do you know the password?

Thanks for the prompt reply guys. I have all the settings i need from M1 but i feel the address they gave me is wrong ims.mobileone.net.sg - there is no way to connect to this address, i have also tried pinging it doesn't work. They claim that is the proxy, they also gave my voip password and username. username is unusually long +65XXXXXXX@ims.mobileone.net.sg - not sure if M1 has a stun server. Anyway the pap2t its plugged into normal internet port not voip port.

Anyway i have also tried using 65XXXXXXXX as username without the address at the back. Still can't work.

Anyway ive been using pfingo with my pap2t no problems at all. For this one i always get "cant connect to login server" error. Hope one day this can be rectified. Thank you again guys.

According to a thread in VR, password seems to be the device id of the M1 issued HG256. Can be read off the device info page.

Thanks weaponx, if this work that will be pretty neat.
I'm thinking of using HG wifi as well to connect those devices not on N but B/G.
any ways to set it up as well ?

HG256's DHCP server can be turned off via the web interface. I have tried out the recommendations suggested by weap0nx. It works!

just remember though that the HG256 have non gigabit ports. If for wifi G/B clients and non important applications then it's perfectly fine. Don't forget to set your HG256 and your Asus on different wifi channels, with different SSIDs to maximise performance.

I checked my M1 page , the device ID is in this format
XXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
(6#)-(20#)

I tried both , it is not the password, can someone verify?
I checked by using a cracker on the Nonce-Response challenge

Indeed username is +65XXXXXXXX@ims.mobileone.net.sg
Realm is also ims.mobileone.net.sg.

What is the password length and format - is it all digits?

also note that when you receive IP for the voice gateway through the VLAN (which is what the Huawei does), the IP is an internal one, like 10.x.x.x , the internal DNS server returns 172.24.x.x (another internal LAN IP) as ims.mobileone.net.sg

I am not sure if the internet address of ims.mobileone.net.sg can be used for your free M1 voice account , Singtel's one does, i've used it to call from the internet

Hi,
Anyone who managed to get Asus preset working with M1, could you help to post your settings.

Asus IP address: 192.168.?.?
Hua wei IP address: 192.168.?.?

Any specific connection procedures? e.g connect Asus to ONT first or set up Hua wei first?

Need to reboot routers and restart windows?

Other necessary settings?

I can't connect to internet even though it says on the asus homepage that I am connected to internet.

Thanks for any help or pointers.

Are you trying to connect to internet via the HG256's WIFI & LAN ports?

According to this :

No need to set dmz on the Asus for the HG256, since the Asus will be handling all the routing. The HG256 connected to port 3 is is on a seperate vlan, you can't connect to it by it's private static ip. The RG is used solely as a voip device only in this configuration.

When you use the M1 preset, the HG256 is used soley for the voice provision.

If you want to make use of the HG256 for internet access as well, you have to connect another LAN cable from N56U's LAN port#1 to HG256's LAN port#1 and disable DHCP on HG256, as suggested by weap0nx.

Thanks ngbc,

No. I wanted to have huawei only for voice.
I connected my desktop to the lan port 1 of asus.
ONT to wan port of asus.
port 3 of asus to wan port of huawei.

Another thing is, even though I have asus as 192.168.1.1 and huawei as 192.168.1.2, I am not able to access huawei's homepage when i type 192.168.1.2 when both asus and huawei and connected. Do I need to set the ip starting address for each of them?
Thanks.
