Hi guys,

Some updates:

ASUS Introduces the Synchronization Function for AURA Software for Motherboards and VGAs

AURA now expands two core functionalities
1) For simpler lighting effects, the lighting is synced in unison between the motherboard and the graphics Card
2) For dynamic lighting effect, the lighting is able to flow seamlessly across both the motherboard and the graphics card (this allows both the board and the card to function akin to two complementary instruments of an orchestra that plays a "lighting symphony" e.g. Comet, Flash, Dash) :flash:

Some FAQ -

How do you know if your product supports this feature?
Starting from X99 refresh motherboards (Rampage V Edition 10, Strix X99 Gaming, X99 Deluxe-II....) onwards, every single motherboard supports the sync function, regardless of the chipset.

The VGAs that support the sync function start from the ROG Strix NVIDIA and AMD latest generation (i.e. 1080, 1070, R480 etc.)

Please PM me if you are unsure and want to check if your model is compatible.

Where to download?
You can download the software from relevant motherboard's support site (not on the VGA site). Please make sure to always use the latest BIOS.

Cheers!
Cheryl

How to Sync:
1_zpsz7ubaqca.jpg

1. Click the Aura Sync Tab
2. Select the Sync VGA Checkbox

When the Sync VGA Box in unticked, the AURA software will be able to control both independently.

so this won't work on Z170-Premium too? :(

I know that this will be a disappointment to many people, but we are not able to offer SYNC for older models at this current juncture. It will take effect from the above listed models and all future ones. :o

Edit/ Note: Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura Board is the only Z170 board to support this SYNC function. As it was just released after the X99 refresh boards..

I will speak to AURA team to find out more about their future plans.

Thanks!

It's a shame that not all Aura boards are compatible. ASUS needs to do better than this

Same as you guys, i bought the Maximus Formula VIII in June, first of the most beautiful rgb mobos when it was announced in jan this year, and Asus pathetically been short sighted of not future proofing and making it incompatible with the rgb strix GPUs. The motherboard isn't cheap....
