Yep, luckily I did not wait for it and bought something else.

I shared the video in case people thought that it can also serve as a gaming laptop due to the GTX1050 Ti and to warn about the thermal throttling issue.

I feel can buy. Previously I am using Asus GL502VM. The battery life for that machine sux. That's y I bought this laptop cause I need to view big drawings file. I feel that the build quality is good and battery life is good too. Battery life is about 6 hours plus 7 hours actually. But it could be I like to open alot of program and always open chrome at the same time.

You should try using Firefox v57 (beta). It was reported to be as fast as Chrome, uses less memory and, I suppose, battery life

but i prefer chrome cause all my bookmark and history is sync using chrome. The speaker on this laptop is one of the best, or maybe the best in the market. Did not hear such good speaker in a laptop before.

The new HP X360 15-inch 4K 8th Gen laptop is a great competitor to the ASUS Zenbook Pro UX550VE

Comes with quad cores
4K display
Touchscreen with pen support
Battery life is about 8 - 9 hrs for general productivity use @ about 30% brightness
HP's black color with gold rim is definitely more appealing than the ASUS's blue color silver rim laptop

Horribly wrong comparison. Performance alone in cpu and gpu the UX550VE beats hp outright. The 1050ti in asus is much more powerful than the tiny mx150 inside the hp laptop.

Hell, the mx150 gpu cant even compare to the 970M, let alone a full 1050ti.

Here's an idea of how the mx150 compares to a 1050ti: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-MX150-vs-GeForce-GTX-1050-Ti

Also, those are each in a VERY different category. The UX550VE is a cross between gaming laptop and ultrabook category with a full-fledged quad core HQ series CPU, since its not ultra-book light at 1.8kg and not ultra-book thin as well.

The HP spectre is a full ultrabook(meaning it's alot thinner and lighter) but with the under-powered, crappier U series CPU. The fact that its a 8th gen means nothing because the HQ series still beats the U series in performance overall. Combine that with the fact that the Spectre comes only with a mx150 and you can easily see the diff in performance.

So no, the spectre cant 'rival' a much more powerful UX550 lol. They're two very different laptops serving very different needs.

Gaming? Forget the ASUS lah. It's like a pai kah horse like that. If you are a serious gamer then go and get yourself a true gaming laptop, ok? Watch below video then talk about gaming on the ASUS

For productivity work the HP is definitely a better buy for it has a slightly longer battery life and a 4K screen. You pay so much for the ASUS and you still get a FHD screen. You ok or not?

UX550 cater to a unique kind of user like me that need good battery life and power. Definitely not for gaming but for work with higher graphic performance. If for normal productivity work. Just get a ultrabook
