Anybody having problem with the sim card slot?

Recent few days my Zenfone suddenly got this problem. It will suddenly tell me SIM not installed. Have to restart the phone. Connection will come back after restart but after awhile, it will tell me SIM card not installed again.

I had that problem many weeks ago but after a firmware update, it's ok already.

Anyone on the ZE551ML updated to the latest firmware? Feels like after updating, even after i wiped cache partition the wifi is occasionally hanging..

Previously it isnt like this. This isnt jus with one app. Im having issues with whatsapp, chrome browser, twitter, facebook & instagram.

Its like sometimes while scrolling through news feed halfway connection seems to have dropped or lost, pics etc do not load, see blanks only then a while later all loads.

Am i the only one?

Downgrade firmware. Next time don't so fast upgrade. Its not like you're getting marshmallow

As much as this sounds stupid, the upgrade was a forced download. I woke up on monday morning with an alert that an update has been downloaded and prompts me to install it.

Yes, i totally know where the setting is to set "dont auto download". It has already been set that way, thus i've no idea how that download came about.

I couldnt dismiss the alert that it has been downloaded, thus i proceeded to install it.

I will look into downgrading to the last known good configuration firmware should all else fails.

I guess so far im only the one experiencing this.

Just got the zenphone2 did a upgrade on the firmware and facing the same issue. But the lag is like a sec or less. So after down grading the firmware does it work?

Have not had time to downgrade firmware to previous version. Currently i tried to switch from my home's 5ghz wifi to 2.4ghz wifi network. Its better now.

While i might not say for sure, but being on 2.4ghz wifi network is giving me better experience for now. Could be some issue with the latest firmware & 5ghz wifi network.

On 4g data i didnt experience such issues.

Very significantly can tell the difference. Previously no matter im on 4g or 5ghz wifi, images from twitter, facebook and instagram loads very fast unlike now on 5ghz network i see a lot of blank spaces due to the pics not loading fast enough.

Another problem noticed to have with this issue is, when downloading of pictures sent from others via whatsapp, usual 4g / wifi will dl the picture almost instantly. With this issue, after u tap to download the pic, there will be this circle that spins for quite some time. Afterwards shows a little progress with slight green curved bar over the circumference of the circular dl icon. All in all, takes a ridiculously amount of time to dl pics which definitely isnt normal.

Did anyone try charging this phone in power off mode....I had tried a few time but it always charge a while and stop.... it will never turn from red to green light....I had tried this in the first few times I bought the phone and everything good(got this phone at launch)... lately cannot charge in off mode.... Anyone try this before? Please advise.

Thanks dlrowehtleah....I tried it just now.... and again in power off mode it charge a while and stop charging...I went to check after 15 min of charging, the red light went missing... so I unplug and power on the phone and saw that it is only 15%... then I charge it in on mode..... on mode charging no problem.... very strange.... I had wiped partition every time after fw upgrade... any advise

ya it's indeed strange based on your description. if you're using 3rd party charging cable to charge, try to use the original one to see if it helps. otherwise, you may have to send in to their service centre.

Thanks for the advice, I am using original charger but Samsung cable... think should b the same... sending to sc will b my last choice

Hi I am a current SingTel customer who can recontract this week. I would like to ask if the ASUS zenfone 2 is worth buying because I realised that not many other mid-ranger has the specs that are close to this phone. I would also like to ask if the Samsung galaxy a8 is a better choice even though it is 398 dollars on a combo 2 plan compared to the 198 dollars which is charged for the zenfone 2. I also am not sure if l should just port over to Starhub which has the zenfone selfie. my family has a cable television and fibre broadband subscription with starhub and another member of my family also owns an iPhone 6 64gb from starhub.
