Help! Is ZenFone 2 designed in such a way that if the first notification be it sms or whatsapps was left unread, the subsequent notifications be it sms or whatsapps will NOT have any notification sound?

anyone noticed their zf2 when waking from sleep the color seems very lightened then slowly recovers to richer color?

esp the green color seems quite obvious

seen it sometimes but I assumed the screen was adjusting to current room brightness, from the different level when it was last used.

I would like to buy a zenfone2, but still thinking which model to pick.

My first pick was 551 32/2G, but I have read some comments that 2G and Z3560 might not be so smooth for a 1080p.

So I plan to go either 551 32/4 or 550 16/2.

There are some main differences:

1. FHD vs HD - thinking if FHD is worth or not, not much diff but consume more battery and more lag
2. 4G vs 2G ram - is 4G necessary?
3. 32G vs 16G - 16G should be sufficient for apps, mSD for data
4. Metallic vs matte - doesn't matter
5. Z3580 vs Z3560
6. fast char-fast char might be good, but heard will reduce battery life as well..
7. Carrier aggregation - does this really help?
8. NFC - no use
9. gyroscope -550 without this, is GPS still good enough?

My main usage are web surfing, video, email, seldom game.
I don't mind to fork out xtra money for 551 32/4, but wonder if it is worth or not
Thanks for advice!

I will say go straight for the 32/4gb version. go for the best in the peck.
1) FHD will be more "future proof", esp at this price.
2) 4g is definately a plus point here. 2gb u will only have less then 1gb to use even if no apps are running.
3) if 4g, 32gb.
4) Metallic do have a special feel. i use the phone without cover and feels great. not sure about matte though
5) tt 0.5ghz do feel different.
6) batt life not really up for this phone, but the fast charge do really help here, but not to the life i guess.
7) not sure on this
8) erm, for ezlink maybe? and data transfer with other nfc phones.
9) 551 gps is good and accurate.

go straight for the 4gb variant i will advise.

Cheers

I also think that 32/4 is more future proof, however my concern is that:
1. FHD+z3580+ fast charge will reduce battery life
2. this is worse when battery is irreplaceable.

After all, no point buy a future proof phone, when the battery can't be future proof..hmm....

Can I clarify whether this phone can toggle the 4G between SIM1 and SIM2 or that SIM2 is fixed at 2G only?

It's already on latest firmware, flashed the same day it came out. Previously I would sometimes get no network on SIM2, then get back network in like 20 seconds. Now keep popping up no SIM2 installed. SIM1 no such problem.

I was also puzzled the phone auto fast charge if below 60%. so the only alternative if we don't want fast charge is not to use that charger provided? :s13:

the battery should be replaceable also, like other non-removable ones in tablets etc. they just name it non-removable cos they just bury it beneath some other parts can don't want the consumers anyhow change ( u can check the phone disassembly and see that it is just another normal battery) . but not sure how much will it cost to change next time

I believe there is a option on phone to turn it off just like Samsung note4. Also, you do not has to use original fast chrager. Using a normal usb charger will only do standing charging for the phone at all time.

Just got the phone today. Tried to check for system updates, but the phone just pops up a dialog showing "checking.." and then closes by itself after a while. Is it supposed to be this way, or is it supposed to show something like "phone is up to date"?

Thanks.
