any way to quickly and safely root (that i can unroot just as easily in the future for updates)?U can uninstall crap u don't need. Like "free" apps have advertisement running in background.
Use startup manager to disable some apps from auto running.
If you're rooted use greenify to prevent app from continue running after u close

Accidentally clicked something and a crescent appeared on the top task bar besides the wifi signal icon. I looked around and realised it is the do not disturb icon. But I went to the setting in settings and was unable to see anything I can click to make the crescent disappear. Anyone able to help?

Any kind soul to start a new post on " How to root and unroot for noobs" Thanks.btw does this method of rooting of yours allow me to:-
- switch between root/unroot status easily? Or is it constantly rooted? (see miui, they have a "enable root" switch in one of their settings pages that's enabled after you root the firmware)
- if constantly rooted, does it at least alert me and allow me to choose everytime a program tries to access root function?

check your auto start manager
the intel atom onboard is really powerful, and scales to low power consumption very well, but if u keep running a lot of power hungry apps you'll drain a fair bit
