Finally! Using it for the past half day. It is such a much needed update. Everything is more fluid all around. No bugs found other than the storage bug.

upgraded without any issues. Not sure of storage bug but encountered the blank black screen during phone call for the first time. the screen display only shows up again after the call has ended. never had that problem while on version L. will have to search how to solve this.

try to use it a few days and see if there is any abnormality. don't reset if it continues to work well.

in theory, it is always good to reset, but if it is a phone that you've been heavily used for > a year, it takes a lot of time and effort to painstakingly backup all your data and pics.

e.g LINE app - if you factory reset and reinstall LINE, all your past chats/pics will be wiped out. and backing up chatrooms and pics is not a mere single button task for LINE app.

for my case, i downloaded the FW OTA in my office this morning and manual installed it ... as it is. after which, i downloaded a cache cleaner app and ran it followed by a reboot. will monitor the performance for next 2-3 days. will keep factory reset as last resort if things didn't do well.

I had downloaded the file and extracted it to my folder. However it doesn't auto prompt me for an update. Which file shld I click on to update? Noob here :(

no don't extract it.

after the file is downloaded, usually, in the "Download" folder, move it to the top folder of the internal storage. reboot your phone, and the phone will boot up as per normal. if you do it correctly, there will be a pop up screen requesting your permission to install the firmware. make sure your batt is enough to last the installation or kiasu a bit, charge your phone during the update.
