Thanks for the contributions here so far and the advice to buy casing and screen protector from taobao via pm. had asked a colleague who is working in china to buy for me there and post back (faster this way).

For those who saw local shops like MS selling zenfone 2, do take note that they are the 5inch screen version which in my opinion no point buying.

4g/2g sim is definitely a minus point for this device, a smart marketing team wouldn't explicitly tell consumers about their flaw. Consumers have to be smart and research regarding the 2nd sim, especially if they need the dual 4g

last time, gave the product manager [derek] feedback during zenfone launch; said it was disappointing that the zenfone no backlight for home, back, menu keys

this one is the 5 inch low powered version (older generation chipset)
that's like 160USD in taiwan

I also gave in a bought a black 32gb version. (my previous order got cancelled as seller couldn't get any stock).

After Lazada & Shopback's discount, the item price is only around 390.. i can bet that we won't be able to get the local set for this price. Given the Asus track record of highly marking up the price in singapore

That's way they called "smart" marketing team...

They revealed the complete network, but they didn't tell us that it's only valid for SIM 1.
