thanks. just updated. play with it for a while and notice a "kids mode" icon. is this new? sorry this is my 2nd spare phone so i hardly use it.

just to share, my fone is vanilla with only nova and swiftkey installed. the screen is at 100% brightness, sim card inserted but since the phone is at home mostly it is usually latched to my home wifi. i play with it only 10-15mins a day. the phone lasts for full 3 days and left around 10-20% batt. of cos no one uses his phone this way. but i reckon it should be able to easily pull through a day even with heavy usage (loaded with all necessary apps, that is.).

i also tested the 4G to 3G thingy. i'm on starhub. before making call, the line was 4G. during the call, it switched to 3G despite the fact that i remained still throughout the call. i read earlier about this Voice over LTE, but it doesn't bother me at all. my call still sounds intelligent to the listening party and there isn't a need for me to download anything in 4G while making calls.

That's quite misleading, so why not go root a Samsung phone, remove SU and bring to their service centre, you think they would still service it for you?

Samsung has knox that will trip. Zenphone does not

YES FINALLY SOMEONE THAT UNDERSTANDS!
The only true benefit for VoLTE i feel, is that you can straight away use LTE for browsing again after calls, but honestly... Who gives a crap.

VoLTE is there for a reason. Especially if you are in weak 3G coverage areasm especially a major evenr like National day event at City area when you find 3G has reach it max capacity. Sure, by all means use 3G to call if your phone does not has VoLTE support.

Is a different storry if you have purchase a phone with such feature but not working.

My zenfone 2 (Full HD 4GB) has cant make call issue. I use M 1 sim. Asus informed me it is there phone issue. Just instruct me to use 3G instead of 4G.

Don't we need to take an action against them? They still cheat people by selling this phone as a 4G phone but it is not

not cheating ah.. it can indeed use 4g

it just doesn't support voice over LTE, and the issue is with m1's 3g network being shitty

The issue only seems to bug M1 users. Currently singtel & starhub users are not affected..

The network will keep change between 3g & 4g unable to call out, not sure why.
But when i in cck, i able to make call everytime on 4g. So might be area with strong 3g signal call will be able to make thru.

my personal observation (tell me if i'm wrong, especially other m1 users with problems on zf2)

i suspect is high latency or respone time for m1 network

this comes from my past experience with m1 and other phones, it was actually very common to have to wait 10-20 seconds before the call attempt starts dialing. i.e. my last redmi note 3g, i tap on a name and it goes to the call screen, then often i have to wait at least 10 seconds in utter silence before it starts ringing


i suspect asus's network attempt times out too fast, so it keeps rotating to try the next network type (between 4g and 3g) before m1 can successfully respond



i noticed this because recently i realised that starhub does not have that calling lag. once you click on dial, the ringing comes almost instantaneously
