Believe me, these prc who work in Seoul or Tokyo or Osaka are pretty rude in some ways. In EU, I see more Pinoy working, even Macdonald’s also have.

We are always mistaken as prc. Once u reply back in English then they won’t speak mandarin with you liao.

Only those in Thailand n indon, they keep saying nihao to you endlessly.... :s22:

that part can't be helped, they are the largest tourist population globally. They also have the spending power that even Japanese tourist in their heyday can't match

PRCs no longer go Japan for toilet seats & cookers.
The news were in that many selling these are
in a slump .
More PRCs travel like us.

Many Taiwanese are crazy over Japan medicated pills / tonic in those Japanese ‘Watson’ . This beats me.

i guess its somehow true, like in seoul and japan, if the PRCs dont integrate then they cant survive.

so its a win-win when alot of tiongs tourists visit seoul/japan when the PRCs working there can speak either mandarin or korean/japanese.

Tokyo is as big as Singapore & more not doing group tours .
Unless you go nearer or they talk loud in mandarin then you may recognise them.

At least these people tried. Encountered a PRC lady who started talking to me in Mandarin, refused to speak to me in English and hardselling the shoes (NMDs) without even checking with me on the colors that I preferred. Asked her if it’s suitable for sports since I needed a new pair for running, she told me she heard from other customers saying it’s suitable. Hearsay? Don’t even know the products. A lot more in Tokyo. Luckily in small towns, it’s still the locals.

NMDs r for fashion. pls dun wear for serious running...

Yea, just needed extra pair for indoor functional training for my left leg due to ACL operation. Going to bring back at least two pairs of Kayano from Japan next Feb. Provided there's sizes.

How much are the the ultra boost and kayano there?

I’ve seen Kayano 22/23 between 12,000-15,000 yen for older colors this Feb. Current one bought in SG lasted 6 months only. Newer models slightly more expensive but still cheaper than in SG. Going to look at Asics walking shoes too.

Thanks. Quite undecided between the kayano and ultra boost. Still have time as my NB Zante and Nike Pegasus are still in good condition

When PRC tourists come to singapore they thought Singapore was a province in one of the far flung region of the Chinese homeland.

this has more to do with human nature, they see Singapore as a Chinese society and this came from their media and stuff they hear...

In Japan nothing works unless you can read and speak Japanese. You notice that the examples you listed speak a single language overwhelmingly? Plus these countries have a much stronger cultural identity. Our own cultural identity is a mishmash and because we need to cater to seniors who can't read english, we got translated signage like everywhere on mass transit. Unless their employers impose a rule to make their employees learn english.... you will see them continue to use mandarin
