That's another way to use the card. I do that for my Malaysia spends. Sometimes while queuing to pay

For the benefit of all travelling to Japan.

I used all 3 cards to withdraw cash from 7 Bank ATMs (found inside 7-11 convenient stores).

Below are the outcome:

YouTrip Master card: No ATM transaction fee
Revolut Master card: No ATM transaction fee
Wise Visa card: An ATM transaction fee of 110 yen or 220 yen will be charged depending on the amount you withdraw.

So get Master cards if you can :)

Side track abit, I have a Mobal Voice/Text/Data SIM. Mobal provided a real Japanese mobile number so I was able to download PayPay.

PayPay is really accepted everywhere and easy to use.

Top-Up can be done using 7 Bank/Lawson ATMs with cash. Takes less than a minute to top-up. No extra charges whatsoever for topping up PayPay via ATMs.

Can consider for your trip to Japan.

Cheers :)
