That's precisely why they're changing the policy. Too many people withdrawing 1k for $5

"With effect on the 15th of June 2023, a 2% withdrawal fee on the withdrawn amount is imposed after your first SGD $400 ATM withdrawal for that calendar month."

Hmmmm.. Per calendar month means I can withdraw $400 on say 30Nov and another $400 on 01Dec without incurring the 2% fee?

The balance inside can also be used to pay directly at POS termninals.

For the benefit of all travelling to Japan.

I used all 3 cards to withdraw cash from 7 Bank ATMs (found inside 7-11 convenient stores).

Below are the outcome:

YouTrip Master card: No ATM transaction fee
Revolut Master card: No ATM transaction fee
Wise Visa card: An ATM transaction fee of 110 yen or 220 yen will be charged depending on the amount you withdraw.

So get Master cards if you can :)
Revolut changed to visa already right..no more Mastercard hai

Can use YouTrip or Revolut to pay and get tax refund into the card?

in JP, tax refund usually given back in JPY cash (for dept store like AEON, Donki, supermarkets)

sometimes, the store would exclude the taxes and charged the before tax amount ( eg 2nd street )

That's not what I understand from your post.
If too scared then just use card or cash. I’m simply sharing a means that can get you the best rates possible without being subject to withdrawal limits. Japan is more contactless now than people think.
