Why not have an audition yourself and decide? Most of the local shops do have the demos for the HDC5 cable.

They way the cable changes the sound may or may not suit you, so still best to let your own ears decide. But in my opinion, the HDC5 cable pairs the best with the IM70 and IM03.

Frankly speaking, the $98 price tag for the upgrade cable isn't expensive compared to other more pricey upgrade cables.

If the improvement is no more than your minimum requirement, then it's not worth it.

I always feel that cable upgrades best suited for TOTL/Custom ranges. The matching will be very ideal (cost effective upgrades). Great for posing too if people can notice your more expensive than gold exotic cables (ego attribute, improve leveling up chances).

Permalloy magnetic circuit.
OFC-6N voice coil.
OFC-6N + OFC cable.

CKR9LTD around 30000 yen. On sale in Japan from 14th November. 2000 sets only.

Differences with CKR9:
New drivers. (Could be the CKR10 drivers)
Pure iron yoke drivers.
Volume of the housing increased.
Aluminium plug.

ATH-CKR7LTD seems to only differ in colour from the CKR7.

Looks interesting. Seems to be a new "Sound Reality" product range. Around 27000 yen. On sale in Japan from 14th November.

Triple vent.

MSR7LTD seems to only differ in colour from the MSR7.

Can't find any impressions on it yet. But hopefully it won't disappoint.

Since all of them are only releasing on November 14/21, MO now also no use, all on pre-order

Just hope the local Audio Technica office will bring all of them in and bring them early too.

Their pricing since the IM series is getting very reasonable, hopefully they will keep the down the pricing this time too Especially the limited edition ones which usually after discount will end up cheaper than Japan.

Wah currynah, this FitEar **** now trying to wreck havoc on ATH thread as well to poison pple with the fiery-red CKR9 limited edition.
Doesn't help with the fact that it's one of my fav colors of all time. (have a red colored made by Vannuys finger-ring strap attached on my current ZX1, and my prev Walkman Z/HD5 daps are all red color options as well)
