Will hybrid tube amps still retain the tubey sound? and will it be at a disadvantage compared to full tube amps?:s11:

No disadvantages between the different type of amps. Really voices down to what type of sound you prefer.

I've heard hybrid amps that sound tubey, I've also heard hybrid amps that sound more like a solid state amp.

Anyone tried the ATH-ADG1 / ATH-AG1 gaming headsets? Ever since I got my AD700 years ago, somehow every other common brand gaming headsets just somehow fail to meet the mark :(

Photo taken sometime back.

Here's a quick summary of my audition and thoughts:
ADG1
Wide soundstage
Depth
Clarity
Tuned bass (slight improvement over the regular AD700X)

AG1
Forward
Mid is rounder
Good synergy/dynamics
Bass!

Common attribute:
May sound bright when first use, need to burn in more than 30 hours (recommended > 72hrs) to get optimal SQ and performance.

I'm using my ADG1 for online mahjong, the sound is astonishing and are fully aware of whats going on such as prosthetic legs, longbow DMR, some heavy things dropped down from the sky etc etc.

Seriously beats all my previous gaming headsets.

Give it a try at Soundwaves Studio, they are the only authorised dealer for the gaming series.

Have heard them briefly before and would say its not bad.

If you're looking for all the gimmicky features like enhanced sound or something, you won't get it.
But if you're looking for quality, its there.

Thanks bro.

Actually can get good surround sound effects if you use Creative soundblaster Z soundcard and configure it to virtual 5.1 ;)

Heading down to E1.
Anyone interested to listen to the A900XLTD with HA22TUBE combo feel free to drop by.

What if it were possible to have them Bigger Boutique Germans into the New Audio Technica?

How would it fair side X side the Premium Priced ALO Pan Am and Schiits'?

E1 Personal Audio sure got all three just for the next few days. Don't forget to bring your not too easy to drive HE6s, HD800s, and Audezes.

Whoa!

Thanks for sharing Siggy ;)

You can compare stock and modded configuration of AT-HA22Tube Amp, as well. Try them both with the stock Wall Plug, and with an Audiophile Grade Linear Power Supply. E1 got the cables and players and headphones.

It is recommendable to audition with your favorite player and playlist, IEM and/or Headphone, as well. Yeah, the AT-HA22Tube does both at a flick of a switch.

We all know that HE6's, HD800, and Audezes require very capable amps. If you got these flagships, or other hard-to-drive,it would be interesting to know if the AT-HA22Tube, Alo Pan Am, and the Schiit, CAN.

That's interesting. I try to find time eat snake and pop by David's.
So the modded HA22Tube is also available for sale? Or just a demo?

Now thinking of upgrading my RCA cable, USB cable, Optical cable and power strip. Was wondering if anyone has any recommendation.

Was thinking of the following:

RCA: AT-RA5000
AT-RA5000 | ???????? | ???? | ?????????

USB: AT-EUS1000
AT-EUS1000 | ???????? | ???? | ?????????

Optical: AT-SDP2000
AT-SDP2000 | ???????? | ???? | ?????????

bro @Haonan and @Randius got any suggestions? :)

You may wanna take a look at the cables listed under this category as well

?????????????? | ???? | ?????????

Although AT cables are likely to have better synergy with AT DACs and amps but you may also wanna take a look at cables from Furutech and Oyaide. Haonan bro should be better versed in cables than I am, since I don't play with cables that much.

Some ask, Why the Audio Technica AT-HA22Tube Amp. There are so many others.

First it is a Hybrid Tube not Tube sounding Solid State. I like tube and like it with the smaller footprint. The AT-HA22Tube seem top be more or less as capable, yet much cheaper than others in it's category. Wanted to see if it can decently manage the Hard-to-Drive Cans. Many headphone tube amps of bigger footprint I have tried, seem to struggle, as well.

Just doing the benchmark to fine-tune on further improvements. It's just a Hobby for me. Hopefully, my 22TubeX will be ready for the 2014 SG Head-Fi Meet.

If I had the money to do a second Mod, I'd try Silmic 2 all the way. Friends compared this the BG's on iPod LODS, and they sure can hold their own.
