Hi, so i had this issue that my computer reboots whenever there is a heavier load, RMA my CPU, PSU, GPU all say no issue. Mobo RMA as well as the old one had bent pins.

Still can't fix the issue, i brought down to nigel and diagnosed is gpu issue. But when i went down tech dynamic the gpu no issue.

So i borrowed nigel's GPU and went home to test, the issue was still there. There is one way that i can keep the computer stable and play lower load games such as LoL by turning on the aircon. The issue is not cooling based as i logged the temps and no issue there. Also i reinstalled windows already.

Anyone have any idea what i missed out? Thanks!

Gonna head down to SLS again tomorrow but posting here to see if i missed out anything

*Sorry for long wall of text, just trying here to see if anyone faced similar issues before

When you mention rma psu, do you mean you got it replaced or did they do a load test for you?

Previously I had this rebooting issue too and it took me a long while to figure out what was the issue. Tested ram stick by stick, ssd/hdd, my gpu on a buddy's com and brought my mb to be tested by distro. Initially I thought it was load that caused my com to reboot, but it started to get more and more random to the stage that it will reboot maybe 5-10 mins after booting up.

Finally decided to bring my sf leadex to techdynamic for testing. They performed their load testing etc and my psu worked fine with their system. Good thing I brought my mb along with me, since once they plug my psu to my mb, a short while into the test it rebooted. The guy assisting me was baffled but they did a swap for me and the issue has since been resolved.

Not sure if its a related incident, but if your psu hasnt been swapped you may consider testing your system with another psu to see if that could be the culprit. I'm using a sf leadex gold 650w.

Tech Dynamic held it for 1.5 weeks to do testing and returned me say no issue.

Yesterday i went down with my rig and seems like might be Motherboard but quite odd i stress there no issue at all.

They weren't very helpful just say that gpu no issue and won't even do a test using their gpu on rig cause there are no drivers.

Going bring it to Nigel again hoping to solve it

Wow that's long. Not too sure what else you can test but that was my experience and I was going crazy trying to figure out which part was faulty. Perhaps you can try loaning a psu/mb to test if those are the problematic parts?

I presume you already tested your rig part by part? What I did was remove the gpu/hdd etc and did memtest on each stick of ram, and once verified the ram were ok I tested the com with just 1 stick of ram and my boot ssd on integrated graphics. Since I still had the reboot issue there were only those few things that could be faulty.

Ram no issue at all ran memtest.

Only thing i can think of is Motherboard or there is faulty cable.

Hope can solve it soon, i had this problem since July

How long you ran the memtest ? Cos sometimes too short it can't detect. I once tested a ram module took 1/2 hr then the defects starts to show up.

Apart from overheating, the most likely culprit is the PSU.

High chance is PSU, transient spike during intense game can cause it to reset.

still wondering if could it be mobo or your hse power issues (there is 1 guy whose hse power is lower than normal would have in current flats)

yeah maybe, but Nigel was able to recreate the problem with my gpu.

My brother's rig is in the same room different power outlet and runs fine, maybe really is the outlet i shall test it later

TS, can you check your power cord from mains to your PSU? Last year, a workstation at my workplace will restart random when in use. Initially suspect the PSU. But when during removal of power cord, found the plug is super loose and no force is required to pull out the cable from PSU end. And this explained why it will not reboot when no one is using and a slight knock on the table is enough to cause rebooting. Replacing the power cord solved the issue for good.
