I got the DSL7002GRV as part of my 200mbps recontract and it was installed a few days ago. My internet connection is fine but I have a problem with my local network.

With my old PACE 2Wire 5012NV router I was able to look up all my local devices by name, e.g. my NAS. But with the DSL7002GRV I can't look any local devices up by name. Ping nas results in unknown host and nslookup nas results in NXDOMAIN (non-existent domain).

It seems to me that even though the DSL7002GRV supports DHCP and DNS, it doesn't actually enable you to DNS lookup the devices that it has assigned IP's to itself.

I've noticed that in the web interface under LAN Setup you can configure the domain name (it was empty originally), but it doesn't seem to work. The client machines don't receive the domain name. On my old PACE 2Wire 5012NV router the domain was always gateway.2wire.net and local DNS worked great. I miss it.

I've tried on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone - the results are the same.

Any help is appreciated! I can't find any user guides on the DSL7002GRV and SingTel support says the question is too advanced for them.

OK, so I called Aztech and they confirmed that it simply doesn't have that loopback feature.

So I need to use another device to do this. But I still need the DSL7002GRV for my MioTV. Any advice on how I can do this? Thanks!

Has anyone faced the same problems as I have? When I turn the speed to 150mbps or 276mbps, none of my devices can connect to the router apart from connecting it via lan? Any help
P.S: This was done in the /singtel, home network --> 2.4Ghz setting where you can change the rate.... Need to turn it back to auto for it to work, but the speed still is fast, just deplets due to interfernce from neighbours who use almost available 2.4ghz channel....

Wireless signal sucks after moving beyond the living room. I am wondering whether wired connection is affected by the modem. Does it make a difference if I switch to Asus one?

Are u connecting wirelessly on the 5ghz? Then u should connect to the 2.4ghz instead.

Hi, I just signed up Singtel fibre and was given Aztech dual band wireless modem DSL7002GRV. Im thinking of trying this Asus AC68U and therefore planning to switch. Is this AC68U as easy as plug and play meaning, whatever ethernet cable currently plugged at the back of my Aztech, I can just plug out and plug in back to AC68 and thats it I! can stat surfing by keying in network password. Or I have to set some complicating online configuration setting? By the way if anyone wants my 7002, just msg me.

I am also planning to do this. On 500mbps singtel with grv7000, the wifi signal is abysmal. Can any pros give a rough guide as to how to do it?

I am using the 7002 on the 500Mbps plan as well with MioTV and phone.

What I do is to disable the wireless mode on the 7002 and connect an Apple AirPort Extreme to the 7002 under bridge mode.

Works like a charm!
