Problem accessing your own web, ftp servers from within servers LAN?

Not sure whether this has been mentioned. Just to share.

DSL7002GRV(S)
If you are running your own web server, ftp server etc, when you try to access your servers within your LAN, you might not be able to access (while you can access the servers from internet). Example is web server default port 80, even after you have done the port forwarding, you could be ending up in the router configuration page instead of the homepage of your website.

This could be caused by the absence of NAT loopback, as DSL7002GRV(S) is thought to be lack of NAT loopback feature.

A workaround is to include domain name in Windows hosts file, for all devices in your LAN.

To edit hosts file, run Notepad as Administrator, open "hosts" in windows\system32\drivers\etc\. Map your server internal IP to your server domain name.

--- Example ---

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#

127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

192.168.1.1 mywebserver.com.sg # add this line for web server

Hi, I received 7002 a couple of months ago.. reading this thread... I'm don't see any discussion whether the password for access to the router for the Admin and User need to be change to lock out unwanted access to the router.

My apologies if this sound like a dumb question to ask but it has been nagging at the back of my head....

Any advise or clarification is much appreciated. Thank you.

You can't change the default router security, it's meant to be universally accessible to singtel technicians..

Thanks for the response, Renfred89

How do I access the User part of the router to change some of the setting like turning "on" or "off" the wifi? I read somewhere before that it is just user but what about the pw?

you can turn on or off wifi at 192.168.1.254 without any password.

If you want to play with advanced settings, try 192.168.1.254/singtel

Hope that Singtel give out AC router.

Cant even see smoke from singtel asking users for trials. According to history, singtel never released devices without trials for newer devices.

AC? Hmm, perhaps a year or 2 more...

oh, speaking of wireless. i'm not sure this is a bug on aztech 7002grv or wad. When i disable the ssid broadcast, all my devices unable to access it. If i set another router as ap with diff ssid and ssid disable, i can access my ap fine. Also no problem with previous 2Wire RG.

Hi guys,

I just got the 7002 with my new subscription on the singnet fibre. Thing is, my new flat walls seem to be thick. Some 8m down the corridor and turn into my room, my signet from cellphone to the router at HDB default opennet point has dropped to near zero signal. Any remedy? Has it got to do with the ac network?
