Well this is abit of ranting post but also a post for us Singaporean to beware of when booking accommodation.

Just last week I went Japan with my friend, during our last 3day we stayed at this place called the Kyoto Kaikan which we found in Booking.com.
The overall rating for it was great so we decided to book it, when we went there the place was clean and the owner was nice.

However the nightmare came after we posted our review.
So we actually give a pretty good rating which is 10 out of 10 and the review we wrote is all praising how good her place was.

But during the review, there's some small review like how is coffee etc.
So for the coffee section we give a low rating but it wasn't reflected at the overall review.

So that's where she messaged us using the Booking app saying this
"才發現你咖啡給最低,不是說了嗎?我們沒提供咖啡,咖啡是我的,你愛喝我願意分享你不愛就不要喝,怎麽跟上次新加坡客人一樣啊!下次不給新加坡客人喝咖啡了".
Translate:
Just discovered that you give a low rating for the coffee, didn't I say before we do not provide coffee and the coffee is mine. If you love to drink I am willing to share if you don't then don't drink it. Why are you the same as the previous Singaporean customer! Next time I will not offer coffee to Singaporean customer.

The thing that pisses me off is due to something so small she message us and in such a lousy attitude. It seems like all Singaporean have offended her due to the rating we give for her coffee. :s8:

Just my 2cents, do try to avoid her place or if you do stay in her place just beware of her attitude maybe she won't offer coffee to you.

In Airbnb her user name is Tammy.

I think booking.com and agoda.com nowadays (in Japan at least) also list airbnb-type private accommodation, maybe that's where the terminology mix-up seems to be happening.

Oh I see. Not too in line with the current trend, I book my hotels directly from the hotels’ homepages or Japanese websites.

So the owner is Japanese or Chinese?

I feel the owner is very narrow minded and petty. Already got a 10 out of 10 rating still bothered with the criticism of the coffee.why about rated her accommodation 7.5 out of 10 and praised her coffee?

When Does the taste of the coffee becoming a decisive factor to book a accommodation? Lol

From the chinese text shown it is traditional chinese so the owner is either Taiwanese or Hong Konger.

Anyway this is the downside if you want to deal with Airbnb apartment owners. Many are not full time preofessional property managers such as the ones you encounter at motels/hotels.

Till now I am not interested to use Airbnb or Agoda Apartments for a common sense reason. SAFETY!

Can the property owner/manager come to your rescue within minutes if there is an emergency? When you stay in a motel/hotel and if someone wants to harrass or blackmail you all you need to do is call reception and the security team will sort it out. When you stay in a motel/hotel you are not just paying for a room to use but also safety as well. Many people overlooked on this aspect! Hotel staff is on duty 24/7. Can Airbnb apartment owner/manager do that? :s13:

Also when I check-in and out it will be a breeze if I stay in motel/hotel. No nonsense such as meet up at what time to collect/return key. :s13:

You also joker asking for it lah.

Don't forget people need to tan jiak ok. And because of the FOC coffee you add in some lousy rating. People already informed you the coffee is a privilege not an entitlement. Coffee no enough you buy your own Starbucks powder and make coffee lah.

You already spend a few hundred or thousand on air tickets already. What is S$10-20 bucks for coffee powder? Singaporeans really damn funny. Free or not free also complain. LOL! :s13:

By the way I am not boyfriend/husband of Tammy in case you guys are wondering why I stand on her side hahaha. :D

Nah is not I specifically review bad on her coffee. Is just booking have a small review like 1-5 how you think about their coffee and there's no option to not review on it. Somehow I give a rating of 2/3 can't really remember. But this rating doesn't show up in the overall rating.

Airbnb / service apartment-type lodging got its own advantages too, though (other than cost, of course). Last week I bought a dessert and wanted to eat in hotel, damn troublesome cos no plate no bowl no knife no nothing, end up go to family mart buy some yoghurt for free plastic spoon, kope a coffee stirrer to use as knife, then use hotel mugs to eat instead of bowls :s22:

In Airbnb with kitchen all these would have been no problem.

Maybe if everything good, shouldn't review the coffee.

I think you can ask for plates and utensils from hotels that provide room service. But those small hotels maybe not.

See below. Beefsteak hit the nail on the head. Unless you are staying in a hostel or no star hotel then of course room service is not available.

My exact sentiments. :s13:

Ermm why the need to start a thread on this? This is more of a personal squabble between you and the property owner.....
