I have posted this link on first page of Bangkok Trip, post again for those who miss it..

http://bankexchangerates.daytodaydata.net/default.aspx

Xiaozen, since u'll be staying at baiyoke boutique, change at superrich head office, a lane next to BigC. In fact there is a shortcut from BigC building to superrich lane. And try not to change on weekends..

For these banks, we have to go to the bank at Bangkok itself to do the exchange or?

Just go to exchange kiosks run by the banks, it's everywhere in bangkok and rates are displayed on boards. Also won't go wrong using UOB or Superrich. I think the exchange rates is slightly different in airport vs downtown. So if u need some money to go downtown, just change a little for taxis (SGD50 should be more than enough). Ask for smaller notes, like 100baht. If not, the taxi drivers will give you "I don't have change" excuses.

Thanks for the advice!

Do I need to pay any additional transaction fee for that?

No transaction fee for cash, it's built into the rate. That's why there's a difference bet buying and selling rate.

Only Superrich has special rate for SGD1000. Unless we're changing a lot of money, difference is not much. If, eg, for SGD500, the difference between superrich and UOB, based on today's rate, is 40THB (which is 1 bowl of noodle) or SGD1.7.
