Spenza had a more basic room feel for solo traveller as compared to glow. 3 star vs 4 star literally.

there's a family mart and 7-11 just downstairs, and its walking distance to pratunam market.

not much difference between metered cab vs bargained price due to heavy traffic in most part of bangkok.

very easy to flag down cabs and just negotiate with them on fixed price. if unsure just use grab price as a gudie.

sometimes grab will be abit ex due to surge so alternative is tuktuk/cab. forget abt bts cos pratunam is far off bts stations. still walkable if u know how to walk. just walk to central via skywalk then from central there's chit lom bts.

Incidental deposit could be place using Their local currency / foreign currency / credit card. End of the day you still gonna get the money back. How much to place would depends on the policy of the hotel. Etc in sg some $50 some $100 per day.

It will be easier for first time solo traveler like you to take grab.

1. Mine was immediate payment as the rate is cheaper.

2. Regarding the deposit fee, i have to pay upon check in. Many years ago when i went to beijing with my parents, the hotel charge us a very high sum for the deposit and if we paid it, we wont have any RNB left! As it was the first time i know about this deposit, all along i thought the charges only pay when check out. Luckily, they allowed us to pay in SGD and we had a few hundred dollars to pay. I was so worried. Thats why when i went to HK after that, i personally emailed the hotel to aak abt the deposit so i can prepare in advance.

3. How are the grab charges like? If we flag down taxi instead of calling grab, there is metered taxi right and we wont get scam by touts

yah but then still an alternative option, as the price still can be bargained...

but for first timers might be abit daunting lah, just need to try a few more times to get used to it.

How is it? Ok? They make you drink lemontea everyday?

only during check in. :s13: :s13:

how ah? tbh this is the first time i stayed so into the alley one.

pros -- cheap, room is big, ok quite clean, no ah tiongs, no cecas, counter is friendly, service is good. got family mart downstairs, got massage downstairs, can get food easily.

cons -- abit inside alley. feels abit nua to walk out sometimes, always wanna call grab in (convenient) :s13: and when wanna go out by either cab/grab, traffic is heywire, need to get out of pratunam inside alley.

but u saved alot compared to staying at glow, for that little bit of inconvenience, inside the alley.

Depending on luck.
Stayed before those hotels that are supposedly haunted such as first world many times.
Stay was great.
Stayed before hotels that are supposedly not haunted but not very pleasant took place.

If taxi go by meter, usually is cheaper than taking grab.
can be as low as 50% of grab price ...

However, some of the taxi would not go by meter.
they would usually quote u 200b onwards ...
however, grab prices might be around 120 to 180+ on average ...

And you save bargaining with the taxi driver. :s13:

cos its not booked by me.

if its booked by me, i will prefer not so into the alley. its the traffic inside that's heywire.

i will consider amari, intercon, pathuwan etc.

hatyai tuktuk no need bargain one, standard fixed 20 or 25b per head, within the town itself.
