You never learn or practice the basics of handling unknown calls? Here are some pointers from the authorities:
  1. Do not answer calls from unknown numbers.
  2. If you happen to answer such a call, hang up immediately. Do not reply to any question or respond to instructions to press any button on your phone.
  3. Never give out personal data such as your NRIC number, bank account number or any other identifying information in response to unexpected or suspicious calls.
  4. If you get a call from someone who says they represent a company or a government agency, verify the authenticity of the call. Hang up and call the organisation’s phone number on your account statem...
Install scamshield, it will warn you of potential scam/fraud calls, dun answer these calls.

When you have free data, you have tendency to answer any calls. I dun answer any calls cos it cost me $, even "genuine" numbers are tag with "scam", then I check and callback if I am expecting a call.

Just some basics to avoid being a victim of scam (even just entertainment but why?). Someone thought he can outsmart the scammer by chatting or tricking them, etc, in the end still got scam, it was in the news!
Correct. There are technology nowadays to record your voice and regenerate your voice and tone thereafter. They can use this to call your family members to scam them by pretending as the person such as borrow money.

Anyone knows if the new transfer rules apply to multiple accounts? E.g if I have 3 accounts with the same bank, each having say $30k (below the 50k limit for rules to kick in), can I transfer all $90k to an external bank account without kenna the 24 hours hold?

how about another scenario. Got 1 account with a bank 1 with say 30k inside. I transfer 30k to external bank A. A while later, external bank B transfer another 30k into bank 1’s account. If I transfer this new 30k out again to external bank A, will it be subjected to the 24 hour hold?

I xfer in 100k from SCB to RHB and out immediately >> got blocked 24 hrs (RHB isnt even the listed banks)

Next, i tried SCB >> DBS 95k. Transferred 45k and went through. Next tranche 50k, was blocked. Need to call and request release.
Another way is OCBC 100k limit, go to ATM and press release.

Transfers via ATM has a daily limit of 5k or 9k

Are you able to call SCB to release the fund? Or need to wait for them to call back.

your 95k SCB to DBS was the full 95k in the SCB account? Or you tx 45k first then top up the next tranche 50k?

Sighs, just cause OCBC messed up big time with the scammer last time, now all the banks need to impose this hassle.

Are you SC priority? Can we get our personal RM to handle such issues?
