Man, this is getting more troublesome.

I changed my default billing & shipping address from Borderlinx to vPost and managed to order the Nook without sales tax.

Order status showed "Unable to process order...." Then I emailed Customer Service.
They then emailed me asking for my CC details ie Card location, Card Billing address etc...I again provided them with vPost address.

I dont think my order will go thru..... :(

Last resort, I will order by Borderlinx Concierge

Latest update:
Surprise, surprise.....received email from B&N that they have shipped the Nook to my vpost address. Order Status now marked as 'shipped'.
Frankly, I didnt expect the order to be successful after receiving email specifically requesting for my CC details.

I bought an ebook and also downloaded a free ebook and both of them were successful. Thanks to HSS (Hotspot Shield)!!!

Another good news:
I have ordered another Nook via Borderlinx Concierge as insurance.
Anyone interested? You pay what I was charged; no mark-ups and with original packaging intact ie sealed.

Any takers?

If you ask me, I personally dun believe in buying such insurance. If the parcel reaches vpost, it is ultimately their responsibility to deliver the parcel to you safe & sound regardless of insurance or no insurance.

To me, buying insurance is one way of protecting your stuff from "being lost in transit' which to me, could only mean 1 thing: "theft within the courier's premises or during handling by its staff".
Bear in mind that if your parcel is lost (and you did not pay insurance), you will be compensated to a max of S$60 (I cant remember the exact amt but it's a pretty low). This is clearly spelt out in their T&C.

It's your call.

My order arrived at Oregon last Friday, I made the payment to Vpost on the same day, now I'm still waiting for Vpost to deliver my Nook... getting abit impatient here.. heh. I tried to trace my item thru Speedpost but it says "Info not available". Should I be worried? Btw, i did not purchase the insurance, too.

It's almost a week, bro. Dun meant to stress you further.....:s13::s13:
Mine is expected to reach Oregon on Friday (3-day delivery) which means, if there's no "lost in transit", should arrive by Mar 26......hopefully.

I don't think there's a need to worry. Once the shipment gets going, it should be smooth sailing. Another possibility of a 'screw up' is when you're not at home and they have no one to deliver to so they move the package back to Ubi etc. Sometimes the coordination is not so good. Usually there's nothing to worry...

Good to see more people getting the Nook! But now I'm rather tempted by the dual screen Alex by spring design. see www.springdesign.com.. Seems like a more open platform than nook, with open browser, android too, wifi etc. o well, they were the supposed original nook designer and have filed suit against b&n for stealing their idea. Supposed to have book tie-up with Borders. So fingers crossed that they find distributor here!

same here...very very bad.....if not for the sales tax that B&N had imposed for Borderlinx, i wld have remained dormant in vpost

Wow... more and more new ereader device coming up. I still prefer the design of Nook though.... compared to the Alex...:)

really dumb question.
I could be wrong but there are some ebooks on sale at Amazon tagged "Kindle Edition".
If I buy these ebooks, is it possible to load them into the nook and most importantly, can they be read on it?

paiseh, new to ebooks....=:p
