BN states: You must have a credit card billing address within the US or its territories, including US Military sites, to receive this item. We currently do not support non-US billing addresses.

I managed to buy books on BN.com.

Personal info/address used the vpost address, the one given for US. credit card I used POSB, can buy leh. Credit card address I put singapore address - guess it's has to be same as the card which it was registered to. Or else can't process cause of wrong card info?

Hey, I was very disappointed when I googled for buying Nooks in SG and most of you posted here that you can't. But I still went ahead and try to buy the latest Nook Glow via Barnes and Noble...

AND IT WORKS! Now a happy girl.. the issue can be solved by simply putting your US address as the shipping AND billing address. I didn't want to give all of you guys false hope so even though B&N emailed me saying they received my order, I still waited until they sent me the SHIPPED OUT email confirmation and this morning the email came!

so now, apparently my Nook and adapter with a silicone frame are already shipped out via 3 packages and are in Philadelphia. Have no idea why they can't put everything together but we'll see when all those reach comgateway. Btw if you made an account with B&N, you'll get free express shipping(1-3 business days) and after 2 months of their free membership trial, you'll be charged $25 annually but you'll get $10/$20 off any Nook purchase.

Will update when my Nook Glow reaches me! ^^ And if you used comgateway, pls do put in the exact address as what they gave because B&N will actually try to ask if you want to edit your add into a more normal looking one.(as I guess they don't understand why there's a code in mine like the c/o blah blah) It's through that code then will comgateway be able to differentiate your packages from the rest. Otherwise the address is the same.

Those who have been facing issues, I hope I helped and please do try putting in the same shipping and billing add(U.S) while your credit card details stays the same.

error in setting up nook

i have just gotten my NST but unable to get to step 4 in the set up! argh!
the error msg was... sorry we're having trouble setting up your nook. pls shut down the device and try again.
i have got pass the connected to wifi stage.
any1 experience this?
any idea how to resolve it??
this is sooo frsutrating......

You bought new one or refurb? Or from someone else?

I got the registration error on my Nook Color, it was due to previous owner did not "erase and de-register" the nook. Luckily the previous owner was very helpful, and I manager to de-register and re-register to my account.

If this is not the case, then I'm not sure... However, I got a new one, refurb one, and both can register without any issue...in singapore.

Hope that info help a bit.

no problem registering...as long as it's not registered before, or have been properly deregistered.

can try:
1) reset it again to factory default...google for factory reset on nook touch
2) try using gmail account instead...or create a new gmail account and use the same gmail account and register at bn.com.

btw, did you create a bn.com account? I suppose you did....

Hello, I registered as a member to Barnes and Noble so the shipping from them to my comgateway address was totally free. Shipped within 3 days.

From comgateway to Singapore, it takes about $32 USD because I chose the faster shipping speed which takes 3-5 days to reach SG. (and there's a promo from CGW, $3 off I think and it discounted for me automatically)
If you are not in a rush to get your product, you can choose the standard speed which takes 6-8 days and costs about $3 USD cheaper only.

Till now, I've been loving and using my Nook alot and I can say that I probably won't get sick of it so soon. The text clarity on the other hand, isn't very obvious and if you read it under natural light, it's still very crisp and dark. Unless you read in an environment without any natural light then will you notice the text is dark gray in colour. Overall I don't find myself harping on the text crispness or clarity.

Oh thanks. Think I will have to try VPN when I get my new router then, right now my router is faulty and I like my wired connection alot more because it's faster.

And may I ask a question, I'm worried about the B&N membership that registers my device. If I don't renew my membership, will my device get unregistered and I won't be able to use it anymore?

About the opening of packages, I googled CGW and vpost and ppl were talking about how their packages were opened unprofessionally as if to check the contents for CGW.

They need to open the 'big box' to see what the contents are for matching of the invoices etc. (They shouldn't open any package further if it's clear what it contains though.)
