I think DC have some nice heroes. In terms of super heavy weights, they will not lose out to Marvel but in terms of enemies, from the comics, how many from DC are actually really strong on their own?

I mean those that can cause massive destructions, not thugs/criminals level.
I can only think of:
Darkseid, Doomsday, Brainiac.. anymore?

powerful dc villains got parallax, nekron, trigon, larfleeze, krona, eclipso and many more but they are mostly green lantern corps villains. batman fight them not sure can survive anot.

Actually hor, the BvS film has a more grand look than the dark knight rises...
It just feels like the whole scene is bigger. Anyone feels the same?

ya

just that most movie goers prefer individual bs like hulk, ant-man, iron man, etcetc

to quote 'too serious', 'too dark', 'not funny'

That one I also thought of... but he isn't as disastrous as the ones I listed whereby you need more than just Superman to handle.

On the other hand, the supervillains in Marvel need the heroes to band together to win, sometimes still fail and many die. Like Thanos, Galactus, Ultron, Onslaught.

I also think Marvel have better individual story arcs / series in their comics which seem more majestic & overwhelming in scale.

lets just say that DC, unlike marvel, aren't going overboard with their villains. Thanos defeat liao, still can come back, and get defeated again.

in DC, darkseid was so powerful that the only time they really stop and defeat him him once and for all was during the final crisis, and only after batman managed to mortally wound him with a special bullet.

well we gave DC a chance to see if their method works too with Batman v Superman...but it didn't work :o I dont mind them following Marvel method. If they dont want to follow Marvel method, because they feel their own way is also good enough or better then sure go ahead. But right now it feels like they do it just for the sake of being different.

The Superman vs Doomsday/Lex Luthor (lets say Man of Steel 2) can maybe fight into Gotham a bit, destroy the Blackgate prison accidentally & some prisoners including Deadshot/Croc escape. Then post credit scene show Batman handing some captured prisoners to the police (some villains like Blackmask or Sal Maroni can cameo as the captured prisoners) then Batman get angry at Superman. Then the movie can establish the public resentment against Superman

I think the Batman origin is optional. But still it will be better if we have a standalone Batman movie first to lay the foundation. Maybe Batman continue hunting down Deadshot/Croc (who escaped in MoS2) and a main villain (maybe Hugo Strange). Then ending only Hugo Strange die, while Deadshot/Croc got thrown back into prison. This way it introduce 2 SS villains (for SS movie), establish Batman's rivalry with them (which can continue in SS movie), link up with the MoS2, and also help audience familiarize this version of Batman.

Then a proper Batman V Superman which focus only on Batman and Superman, with Wonder Woman being written more into the story.

but wouldnt that feel so episodic? and why should batman only get angry when some of the prisoners are released and not when Superman revealed himself and caused massive destruction in metropolis? superman's arrival heralded the era of extraterrestrials and batman isnt sure that he can trust superman to stay on the side of humans. and how is a batman standalone movie going to continue without the effects and repercussions of suddenly having known that there are aliens out there?

anyway suicide squad will take place before BvS, so if anything goes, batman doesnt care about those villains under amanda waller anymore unless they go rogue.

What's the rationale behind Superman being always weak towards Magic?

Is it because all Krytonians are like that?

This is a frequently misunderstood point. It's not that Krypyonians take more damage from magic. They are vulnerable to magic, just like everyone else.

I enjoy both marvel and dc movies, different style is good. I agree with the many flaws of BvS but still find it very much enjoyable. Gal gadot looks really awesome. Ben affleck has the look of a weary Batman. Not great but not a bad film at all.

IMO Chris Nolan's Batman trilogy was by far the best, plot was better than the MCU universe.

How come Singapore never showcase Mad Max Fury Road? damn, that movie was awesome, but no one seemed to bother about it.

Tiagong many AMDK comic fansee though enjoy his version of batman but kpkb that his batman too realistic cannot fit into the DC universe especially the future JL moobies, so ish like treating his version as an alternate universe or non-canon batman. :(

Maybe also that why we don't see them continue his version of batman in the BvS universe. :(

I actually find BvS very enjoyable too. Compared to recent Marvel movies, I only like Winter soldier more than this.

good suggestion. 2.5 hour was too long. having prequel to this could flush out the story but i think the main problem is not whether DC or Marvel.

Dc movie is produce by warner bros. dc has min say unlike marvel who has a stronger say in production material.

look at fox and recent release deadpool. fox screwed up most of their marvel franchise but i reckon with success of deadpool they will learn otherwise. hope warner will do the same.

ya nolanverse also hard to fit in JL la, too realistic. Ra's Ah Ghul's immortality is just in the form of his idealism, and this batman also weak la. fight joker, harvey dent, scarecrow, falcone, then go into self exile for dont know what reason for 8 years, then come back fight bane and talia, then retire liao.

so short career :( better to just preserve as a stand alone universe.

It just made history at the box office despite "poor" reviews. If box office success isn't a clear basic indication then what isn't working according to you? Competition is a good thing. Diverse and successful superhero movies means people stay interested. BvS has its flaws just like any other movie. I'll surmise by saying BvS actually made me wanna watch it again in theaters after a first viewing. I thought Avengers was pretty bleh. Very jumbled and no tension for the most of it, they're the only Marvel films (with the rest of the origin movies) I haven't felt like watching more than twice (once in theaters and once on Bluray). Huge fan of all the Nolan-verse Batman's but Rises fell a bit flat at points. You want DCEU to follow Marvel's fun, dry-humor, hand-holding approach to comicbook movies where everything is explained clearly to the audience? :s13:
