not a good example but they did in the Agents of Shield TV shows....

also the Chitauri invasion of new york is but a part of a larger plot of Thanos...that is going to happen in Infinity War...

yea but why isnt anyone in the world doing anything about an impending alien invasion? why aren't they questioning the existence of thor? tony stark knows something is coming, he could have shared but he chose not to.

why not take BvS as a larger plot of JL also? they are certainly building up to darkseid, with batman's vision and everything. and the show definitely showed how hypocritical people can get. one moment they hate superman, then because of his sacrifice, they all love him suddenly.

I must be an outlier because I enjoyed the movie, no wonder I am forever alone...haha

You're not alone. My gf enjoyed the ride as well. The BO numbers don't lie even though its still early for a first weekend and there's no serious competition in coming weeks. See if it reaches 1B. :s13:

Is that all to you? Its just one aspect of entertainment to me. I would've taken them seriously as well and focus on them if there wasn't anything left that's redeemable but as I've said. :s13:

Well the rest has been said enough. Besides a weak plot (which should be the main key focus of a movie) and useless scenes, there's also confusing scene switches and cuts. Someone already elaborated in the previous page. The only redeeming part is the action scene which is presented in every other superhero movies too...I think Man of Steel got better fight action scenes :s13: The Superman vs General Zod/faora and nam-ek machiam like Dragonball.

Iron man 3 and Spider man 3 suffers from almost the same problems critically but went on to be box office success
Spider-man 3 forced Sony to fire sam raimi reboot the Spider-man franchise (to amazing spider-man which got rebooted again now by marvel)

Iron Man 2 is why Jon Favreau no longers direct or involves with Marvel and Iron Man 3 is reason there's no more Standalone iron man movies (RDjr's contractual obligations not withstanding)

so regardless of box office success, studios actually cared about critical ratings...not everyone is as thick skin as Michael Bay... :p

MOS vs ZOD>Trinity vs Doomsday in fight scenes!? Getting more bizzare with preferences here. But both can't be worse than AOU which is just majestically comical. :s13:

Also loved the Batman's little creepy scurry scene in the middle with cop and the thugs at warehouse when saving Martha. Brilliant stuff. :s13:

Age of Ultron's failing is that it cramps too much while going in weird directions (focusing on hawkeye's family is weird...it almost seems like Joss Wheldon's apology to Hawkeye in the original avengers)....

but BvS's failing is quite titanic from a film and scripting POV as i've described in my previous post. Maybe if a different director recut and rearrange the scenes it will be much better, but as it stands now.....BvS is a terrible move....entertaining but extremely terrible...

the many 3/10 reviews from the critics is because of its failing as a basic film.

If i am to rate BvS for entertainment value, i will give it as 6/10. But as a film though, it will have fail and get a 3/10 too. Seriously if Zack Snyder submitted BvS at his film school as a graduation exam movie (or David S Goyer submitted this screenplay as a screenplay exam), they would have flunk by the professor.

As somebody that actually studied film making, BvS has one of the worse editing in big budget blockbuster history....almost on-par with transformers rise of of the fallen (which i considered one of the worse big budget movies ever in hollywood history)..

i am not saying you can't enjoy it...you can....it is 'entertaining' in certain scenes but as a movie, Zack Snyder releasing BvS in this current state in actually an insult to audiences and film students....

Woah. Take a step back. What should they be doing about an alien invasion? Pump everyone full of steroids? Enlist all the mutants? Humanity is already disunited.

Actually the Doomsday vs the trinity fight is nothing much. Once the trinity come together, batman is only dodging the attacks until he fires a kryptonite bullet near the end. Superman is mostly rescuing Lois Lane and retrieving the spear from under water and then stab Doomsday. The only one actually fighting is Wonder Woman. really disappointment

I think the first Avengers has got the best fight scene, really showcase the dynamic and teamworks of everyone. both fight scenes in Winter Soldier vs Captain America also damn good too.

i mean, isn't it funny that they're acting as if its an everyday thing? you mean one day alien visit earth, next day you continue like nothing happen?

All these are explored in the TV series....even daredevil s1 talked about the NYC invasion.

That's why there's an expanded universe material like the TV shows to show & explain the nitty gritty stuff. If every movie is gonna show and explain everything... Then every movie would be bloated like BvS..

The fallout of the Hydra inside shield storyline in winter soldier is further expanded in agents of shield (for much of season 1 & 2) and that's a nice touch..

Which is a very interesting point of view when you have a world with a giant green monster, a billionaire that manufactures weapons for a living and decided one day to become a war machine himself, and a government that has been manufacturing super soldiers since WW2. I'd say the universe should already imploded on itself by now.

I honestly don't think overall panning of this film hinges on film artistry. AOU is a story by itself and it almost seemed like the only purpose of BvS was to announce future franchises while trying to fit a coherent story in. Maybe the longer version will fix some of the issues (or it might introduce more of them). They even cut out a whole character from the film. I don't think there was too much of the Justice League introductions, it was really just a few mentions, and few encounters with Wonder Woman which were really nice. It totally didn't feel like it was a setup to new connected universe franchise yet. So it feels they were just there not expanded on.

It was not perfect...sure. But still an enjoyable movie than the Avengers imo. This is definitely a different tone to the Avengers and I think a lot of people are going in with those kind of expectations and getting disappointed. They laid the groundwork for the future JL movies perfectly. I did think that Flash/Aquaman's screentime was a bit unnecessary though. The editing was problematic but I think your score is a bit harsh, film school or not. :s13:

Logically it would make hard sense for his presence to be felt in a toe to toe with Doomsday. I thought he did enough.

On script I'm sure but I didn't get that comic feel epicness translated on screen like BvS but i'll still consider Winter Soldier as the best Marvel film. Civil War might change it.

Here cannot give personal opinions or reviews about BvS one. If these are negative, you will be instantly labelled as Marvel fan boy.
