Here are six investments that are well-suited for beginner investors.
A 401(k) or other employer retirement plan. ...
A robo-advisor. ...
Target-date mutual funds. ...
Index funds. ...
Exchange-traded funds. ...
Investment apps.

A 401(k) or other employer retirement plan.
A 401(k) plan is only applicable to workers in the U.S. and occasionally employees of U.S. companies on outbound international assignments from the U.S. And they are not investments themselves. There are merely tax advantaged accounts that can contain various investments. You have to choose which investments you want, and it’s very possible to make bad or inappropriate choices.

Or u can pass it to a stranger for 4% p.a. yield. It is capital guaranteed and protected against bankruptcy *touch wood*. However, he will decide when and how u can withdraw the investment. Nonetheless, he promises to return all capital + int when u die.

Must specify that the 4% is not guaranteed.

If he is age 60, then the money is in the Retirement Account.
As everyone knows by now, you can only take money out of Ordinary Account for education use.

I'm guessing he was self-employed during most of his working years, that's why his RA balance is so low. Self employed people do need to take more responsibility to manage their own savings to ensure they have enough for retirement or other needs for the future, especially if they don't make use of VC.
