Given current state of things, if AMD can hit Sandy Bridge in terms of IPC, then they can just release 4GHz unlocked processor and win in value

They can make Zen modular like GPU to deal with bad yields

Sandy Bridge is not even exactly close to Skylake (~25% higher IPC). Given that statement, they need to be at least on par with Haswell with a good energy efficiency level to be able to compete.

This thread caught my eye as looking for a PC for websurfing, youtube, emails.
Would be a good low cost option?

Need to buy 8gb RAM (this one? Crucial 8GB Single DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin 1.35V/1.5V Notebook Memory)
I have SSD- Transcend 240gb.

Install windows using external dvd writer ok?

Yes, should work well for your purpose.
If you are not doing Video Encoding, Extensive Photoshop and Gaming, this mini-pc will work pretty fine for you.

Video Review on youtube for a slightly weaker CPU version.
Also Windows now boot from 2.5 HDD after bios update.

Thanks for the video and the link to the correct RAM.
Still thinking whether to hoot as it'll be for elderly aunt who currently runs a Sandy Bridge i5 Dell.

It will be a slower than her i5 dell.
But not much noticeable difference based on her usage.
