Its Apache brand. costs about 80+ only but comfort level is the same as sperry cos I tried them side by side. :D

only question is if it would last :D

But like that might as well just top up a bit more for sperry since its known to be quite well made no?

Not too sure if sperry is more well made and justifies the additional 60 bucks.

Sperry design in Singapore is too very limited :( Not blue means green or tan brown. Overseas got greater selection haiz....dunno why singapore dun wanna bring in other designs. So far haven seen any colour like this pair and since comfy then just buy and try, see if it can at least last me 1 year anot.

btw, apache can be bought as everbest outlets. But they only have one fugly looking model :(

Anyone looking for wider variety of boat shoes can go Peninsula plaza 2nd floor think is federer sports or something. They have a lot of NOS for you to try on. Sperry, Apache, Timberland, Rockport, Sebago, etc.

Even those no longer in production timberlands. Price is slightly cheaper than outside and can bargain a bit. Btw, very messy looking shoe but lots of older models (They don have new models tho.)

just found out its nubuck leather :p.

how about the sole and bottom of this boat shoe ?

The insole is similar to sperry's and timberland, and like all 3 imo, inferrior to red wing boat shoes. A pity cant find the model I looking for from red wing. But then again, boa tshoes aren't exactly known for ther cushioning capabilities. Only the newer boat shoes with a base that looks like sport shoes have very good cushioning. But that would deviate from traditional versions which I prefer.

bottom is marked, unlike sperry and timberlands which are unmarked. Not too sure if this is a disadvantage as I have yet to walk on wet surfaces yet.

This is probably not a top grade brand in terms of boat shoe but should be pretty suffice for my weekend wear :D

sperry insoles are pathetic
if you're like me and own a model which has the fabric sole (now it's some kind of sports shoe insole thing), you'll know how easy it is for the fabric to peel if you wear it often w/o socks
i've had mine almost 2yrs now
walk on water no slip no nothing
:o

its an advantage when you are walking a wet surface ...cos of friction , you wont slip that easily. if the bottom are of those street soccer shoes bottom , it would be splendid .
