Pay 3 bills

For paying 3 bills, I had set up GIRO for IRAS and its reflected as

Local Clearing And Outward Remittance

does this count as 1 bill ? My other 2 via payment to credit card bills I can see it clearly under

Bill Payment Transaction Inquiry

Thanks.

I signed up for BOC Family Credit card..and saw that my billing cycle for this card is Jul21 to Aug23

so my $500 spending for credit card is tied to this cycle?

I believe your statement is generated 23rd of each month and the next billing cycle starts on 24th. The min $500 spending for the card rebate follows this 24th to 23rd billing cycle. But then if you using this card to also fulfill the requirement for card spend bonus interest, you need to spend min $500 in the calendar month also.

So it is counted as bill payments and card spend? Meaning we get 0.6% and 1.55%?

No, bill payment 0.6% need to pay bill on ibanking or GIRO from smartsaver account. Card spend 1.55% need to use visa/master/unionpay on credit or debit card.

hey guys, I'm having trouble logging in to my ibank for the first time. I'm stuck at the window where they request serial number, activation code and OTP. No clue how to do the activation code thing. how do I get it?

They will snail mail you a blurry slip of carbon copy paper when you need to tear the sides to reveal the contents?

Good luck to figuring out the alphanumerics...

hey, thanks for the reply. I did already have the mail and it was freaking hard to figure out the password indeed :s22:. but anyway, I realized they already activated the device for me so I just had to login normally

I opened the SmartSaver account today and like many others struggled through the setup for online banking, but thanks to the comments in this thread, has finally managed to get it done. Just needs to get salary crediting changed, and pay another visit to the bank to get credit card linked and we are good.

Just wanted to check a couple of things though.

In the portal, it lists my account as a passbook account (instead of SmartSaver). Is this right?

The CSO mentioned that when having my salary credited, sometimes, there is a maximum of 11 numbers, in which case, just leave out the 9500 in front. When applying for GIRO, should I use the 15 numbers (with 9500) or 11 (without 9500)?

TIA

Yes passbook account. If your company accept 15 numbers better to use 15 numbers. If not use 11 numbers.

I have a 22 Aug debit card txn, until now still not "posted" in my SmartSaver account, but can see in Debit Card txn on BOC IB.

Ah tiong CSO says its bcos merchant has not claimed the amount. If not posted in SS account, then wont meet criteria for DC spend. Insisted nothing they can do & ask me to call merchant.

I called Merchant who said as debit card txn, it's immediate & dont see any pending claim on their end. Even if unclaimed, after so long, would be returned.

I suspect there is some batch processing on BOC side to post debit txn to relevant savings account ...

looks like i will miss another month of 1.55%

I not sure, but based on experience with other banks only after merchant posted the transaction then it will appear in iBanking.

merchant claimed to have posted on same day & wont wait so long without posting :s11:

strange way on BOC IB of reflecting debit card txn details ... on previous month, there are 2 separate lines ... 1 on Txn Date & 1 on Posting Date for the same item

maybe tmrw go down to branch to speak to someone on similar wavelength & accent

Another alternative is to call mastercard hotline (assuming you using the mastercard debit card)
