no choice. asked manager over counter if any plans to phase out tokens but they're quite not optimistic understandably being a foreign bank moreover a china one. the local banks are the first ones to remove or plans to get rid of the tokens needs

Looking back at the old posts, at least BOC is cautious.

Now local banks all come out and say can continue with physical token.

BOC really not bad. I had 4 unauthorised transactions charged to one of my BOC credit card in USD in the middle of the night. Saw the SMS when I woke up. When I called hotline, they say the card has been flagged with suspicious activity and already blocked. Otherwise will have more damage done.

BOC SmartSaver earns higher interest compared to other banks, if you meet the qualifying conditions. Does anyone face issues with the physical token lately? The token can turn on but blanks out after pressing OTP.

Just a comment on BOC app. Their app when want to enter anything like PIN the software keyboard that pop up the layout of the letter and digit are different each time!! Dunno if this is called security but to some ppl we are so used to the letter and digit positioning so sometimes enter wrong!!! Too secure may cause hassle for users but I guess it is a trade off.

No issue with mine. Think you need to go bank and change token.

I wonder if BOC strengthen their security. Recently I seem to need to use token more often than before. Even paynow $70 also need to enter OTP from token and not SMS.

But not complaining in light of the OCBC scam.

It is their security feature. If scammers use bot make it harder for them.

But I realise BOC take much longer than other banks to kick out when inactive. So reduce the number of times that need to login. Other banks keep kicking me out while I am updating my excel.

All along I don't mind doing extra for the sake of security. Hate those banks who don't even give me a choice and make digital token compulsory.

Yes I did! Several times it was blanked out. I thot my token spoilt or what.

After a few times the number came out. What's wrong Sia?
