Just to share my recent account opening experience so that new comers can go through less pain.

At the point of account opening, you will be given a sealed userid & password envelope for the internet banking. I strongly suggest you open up the envelope on the spot and see if you can see the printed userid and password clearly. The quality is often so bad that you or even the counter staff can't make up what those letters/digits are. Mine was so bad that I couldn't login when I went home. So I had to make another trip to the bank and request to reset. When given the new one, I opened up on the spot and again it wasn't legible and I showed it to the counter staff and he was perplexed. Reissued another one and the counter staff brought out their internal laptop for me to try login on the spot. That's the only sure way to not lose time and unnecessary trips.

Then I applied for credit cards and it came about 2 weeks later. To link them, you need to make a trip to the bank again. You will be asked for the credit cards' pins. If you brought along good on you. If not, not a problem. The counter staff can reset the pins on the spot for you. I had 6 cards, so had to reset 6 times (enter 12 times on the PIN). And then to link the cards to internet banking, got to do it one by one and have to enter the newly reset PINS 6 times in total for the 6 cards.

I opened at Jurong Point Branch.
Bo lang, even at lunch time. No queue.
The counter staff was waiting for me.
All done in 15 mins.
No problems with IB password & pin when login at home.

Yah loh yah loh! I was lucky, because mostly quite clear, but there was one character that looked like 'c' with a smudge on it, but it was actually 'q'. It took me quite a while of trial and error before realizing why

Not trying to sound absurd but, has anyone experiencing error logging in due to incorrect username and password?

This is the second time I kena.

I used to be able to login as normal. And came the first time when I was pretty sure my username and password were right, but it kept prompting me incorrect inputs. So I went down to the bank and changed, AND this time i wrote it down.

So normal usage again until now, i typed the exact same username and password as what I wrote, it prompted me incorrect username and password.

Is it just me, or some of you have experience this too? :(

Hi guys,

this is my first month end after setting up my account, saw that my salary was credited in and checked my CC spending hit min $500 plus 3 bill payment, how soon can I see the rebates coming in? is it within 15 days as per what the bank advised?

i guess it should be prorated as I only opened the account during the mid of June.

BOC will take your month end balance to calculate the interest?

thanks in advance.

it should be within first 7 working days. still waiting for it as well.

the first month is a double whammy for the bonus interest ... computed based on Avg Monthly Balance for entire month (which is a pro-rate in itself), then prorated again based on the number of days your account was opened ... :(
