it should be within first 7 working days. still waiting for it as well.

the first month is a double whammy for the bonus interest ... computed based on Avg Monthly Balance for entire month (which is a pro-rate in itself), then prorated again based on the number of days your account was opened ... :(

I remembered that i only kept the minimum balance required when i opened the account. I topped it up to the max on the 1st day of the following month.

yah, that's the correct approach

but if u kept only 1500 initial deposit, did they slap fall below fee since AEB for first month will be less than 1500 ?

should be alright, since they calculate based on end day balance for the number of days in the very first month :s12:

Average daily balance (ADB) for the 1st month is counting from the day the account is open. So ADB is 1500 if 1500 is kept in the account.

I think a big problem with ther internet banking is the tab key jumps from ID to the verification field instead of the next field.

You'll get the hang of it....
Key user name -> tab -> key verification -> tab x 6 -> key password -> tab -> key OTP

How this compare with std chart bonusaver?

the new bonus saver has lotsa hidden cache
- cc spending is 1.88% (if you spend $2000), else it's 0.88% (if you spend $500)
- salary credit is 1% (amount must be $3000 or more)
- bill payment is 0.25% (3 x bills, minimum per bill is $50)
- invest/insure 0.75% (which most people don't have)

the good thing is this is applicable on your first $100,000 in the account, so the upper limit is higher

but looking at the rates and ease of fulfilling the criterias, BOC still top, and followed by UOB One

Just to share my recent account opening experience so that new comers can go through less pain.

At the point of account opening, you will be given a sealed userid & password envelope for the internet banking. I strongly suggest you open up the envelope on the spot and see if you can see the printed userid and password clearly. The quality is often so bad that you or even the counter staff can't make up what those letters/digits are. Mine was so bad that I couldn't login when I went home. So I had to make another trip to the bank and request to reset. When given the new one, I opened up on the spot and again it wasn't legible and I showed it to the counter staff and he was perplexed. Reissued another one and the counter staff brought out their internal laptop for me to try login on the spot. That's the only sure way to not lose time and unnecessary trips.

Then I applied for credit cards and it came about 2 weeks later. To link them, you need to make a trip to the bank again. You will be asked for the credit cards' pins. If you brought along good on you. If not, not a problem. The counter staff can reset the pins on the spot for you. I had 6 cards, so had to reset 6 times (enter 12 times on the PIN). And then to link the cards to internet banking, got to do it one by one and have to enter the newly reset PINS 6 times in total for the 6 cards.

Want to bump this point up since I have problems with this.... Kenna locked out of my account zzz

For everyone's knowledge...

Will there be a physical paper statement send to us at end of the month? I opened my account around end of May, to date I have yet to receive any statement. Or is there an option I need to chose in the online banking portal in order to receive the statement?

Apparently I keyed in the username and password wrongly for a couple of times (which I am not sure whether if I actually did), and I got a pop-up box that says that my rights are revoked for today, please try again tomorrow.

Anyone experienced this before? Would I get back my rights automatically tomorrow or do I have to make a trip down to the bank?

Thank you.

Nope. I dont remember that i was charged any fee. But even if they charge, i think it should be waived easily
