just read through all of 84 pages here. already have ocbc 360 a/c and was considering between uob1 and boc smartsaver for the excess funds.
seems like boc one is a better choice since i already credited salary to ocbc (1/2%) and the giro requirement for uob1 is a pain.

problem now is hitting the $500 cc spend mthly. currently have about a fixed $300 spend on bills and stuff mthly. need to think how to spend on the other $200, any idea guys?

was thinking if i sld cancel my giros and just pay mthly instead.
never cancel giro before, is it troublesome?

Thanks guys.
the BOC family card gives 7% on dining everyday from 18 Apr onwards...that should help you hit the spend.

Just wondering, is there a thread for this
http://deluxeforums.hardwarezone.co...-put-rmb-inside-withdraw-china-5342240-2.html

This is a very good way to transfer $$ out to china and vice versa. Can change at money changer at a good rate and deposit/earn interest, then withdraw in China.
Not sure about the interest and anytime can withdraw things.
Anybody?

I placed RMB 3k, 3% for 1 year in cash. Counter say withdraw in cash may have charges. On maturity, when withdraw, they gave the principle in RMB but interest converted to SGD. Amount too small ... dint bother to see if there were charges.

If always travel to China, this is a good option. :)

My wife good friend in China, so every 2 or 3 years will go there. :)

I remember someone mentioned before withdrawal of sgd and Rmb over the counter no charge.
Correct me if I am wrong.
