Boc smartsaver giving lower interest for his case come 1 Dec. So other options will be better then.

i was looking at the T&C. To qualify for the bonus interest, one need to maintain $1,500. How about account minimum ? $1, $500?

S$3 will be charged if the monthly average balance in the account is less than S$1,500.

Thank you Trazora. Got it! The musical chair for BOC has stopped. Guess in 2017 the only bank that still in the game is UOB.

if smartsaver's requirement is considered hard to meet, bonus saver will be harder. Btw bonus saver shouldnt be use to compare with smart saver as boc doesnt have an invest or insure element in it.

I feel,
The proper comparison will be POSB, OCBC, SCB as comparison

UOB and BOC as comparison

Boc's change of terms make the interest rate lower but more of my money going in....I can hit salary, 500 spending, bills and 50k bonus. Meaning 0.4 + 1.2+ 0.8 +0.35 = 2.75% is this the best rate I can get without having to flip money between ocbc 360 accounts?

The good thing about bonus saver is the interest rates apply to $100k, so if you credit salary is already 1% x 100k is more than 1.2% x 60k.

BOC Smartsaver bonus interest is applicable up to first 60K

A lot of people may have forgotten to factor in their base interest rate too (their base interest is quite significant, as compared to our local banks)

Maybank SaveUp, for GIRO payment the criteria is $300 (total amount per month), this is comparatively higher than the others. Like Bonus Saver is $50 x 3 bills, Smartsaver is $30 x 3 bills, UOB & OCBC don't have minimum amount per say

And of course some would also want to factor into consideration the potential rebates they can earn from credit card spending. Bonus Saver cc doesn't come with rebate program, BOC Family card is quite potent with 7% dining rebates, 5% for groceries/hospital bills

You have the receipt? Anyway no worries if you have entered the card numbers correctly. The payment will be processed and reflected in ibanking in 1-2 days.

It would appear BOC is still the best if one cannot satisfy the card spend requirements and have $6k salary.

Total interest rate is 1.95%. OCBC gives 1.75%. SCB BonusSaver gives 1.25%. Maybank Saveup gives 1.046%.
