He said only international transfer need to write 6500, all local transfer need not.

Damn. i checked my notes i wrote in front of the bank of china singapore CSO and she specifically says need to write....arrgh this bank is hopeless.

Anyway im biting the bullet and omitting it ....

All my FAST transfer I use 6500, all working fine. Omitting 6500 is only for HR salary crediting.

Ok verrified myself...SCG8866 is correct. I did FAST transfer from ocbc and cimb with 6500 and all transferred within 1 min.

Now just biting the bullet for salary credit where i omit 6500.

Hopefully the CSO from singapore just made a mistake and said the other way round. The CSO from China, wah lau made it even more confusing.

spend 20 min trying to activate my token.....call in helpdesk and tell them I have a problem activating my token. the guy who picked up my call told me that he will be able to help you. went through the verification process. after that he tell me, no I wont be able to help you. you have to call the retail hotline (also open 24 hour) to do it....zzzz, why in the first place need to verify me if unable to do it?

than call in the number they give me. the customer service said my token already activated....no wonder I cant seem to activated. does the bank help u to activate token? first time I hear that

haha i also had the same problem...for 5 mins....but when i tried 3rd time...i saw that it says the token will indicate if its needs activation. Mine already showing number, so i just tried login and it works.

their ibanking looks interesting actually...can customize shortcuts....haha but need to use it more to see what features lacking.

Any idea how to know if the bank teller opened the correct account for me?
I do not see any mention of Multi Currency Savings account in the internet banking.

Anybody knows if any criteria for salary credit? Eg. OCBC needs a SAL code indicated to qualify. BOC terms very brief...not sure if I use giro transfers from other banks will qualify as salary credit. How does BOC know if the giro is a direct salary credit?

"Only direct salary credits via GIRO or BOC Salary Crediting Services will qualify for the bonus interest rate. Salary credit in other forms such as cash, cheque, cashier’s order, TT remittance and etc. will not be eligible."

(2.25%+3.25%)/2 = 2.75% is average for illustration,
The dif 1% is incremental bonus interest.

I think what it actually means by the above is:
  1. you have 2 accounts here (account A earns you 2.25%), account B earns you 3.25%.
  2. 2.25% is = salary (1.2%) + bills (0.5%) + 500 spend (0.5%) + base interest (0.05%).
  3. 3.25% is all the above + incremental deposit (1%).
  4. you alternate your deposit between these 2 accounts so that you earn the maximum incremental deposit (1%) For instance, in Jan, Account A = $60K, Account B = $3K. Then in Feb, Account A = $3K, Account B = $60K.

If the above are all correct, then the question that i have is on you got your HR department to also alternative your salary between these 2 accounts? Please pardon me if this is a silly question. :D
