No nets transaction meaning their debit cards cant be used for NETs payment? Not that critical as i already gt Everyday card for that.

From second sentence, i cant set auto deductions for my insurance to my bank acct?

But, in your opinion, is this saver account more worth than OCBC 360? I am able to fulfil the $500 spending/mth, $2k salary, 3 payments for telco and insurance. This would give me 3.55% p.a for up to $60k?

I read that they would give me their BOC Great Wall International Debit Card, BOC UnionPay Dual Currency Debit Card. Is it a must to accept both or can i just accept one? I presume it works the same as normal debit cards like POSB GO! card?

For the 1.55% interest, can i set my recurring monthly investment payment to the given BOC debit card?

their debit cards can't be used for nets transactions. actually only a few banks' can. DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB and Standard Chartered.

you can still apply for giro for your insurance to deduct from your bank account.

i dunno if you can reject one card. i just took both.

i'm not sure what institution your monthly investment plan is from. can check the list of payees someone else posted in this thread.

Alright, thanks for your info... Planning to get this. perhaps gonna drop by at tamp branch to know more. Hope can start next Mar.

My investment is from Great Eastern. But thats charged to my OCBC 365 card. Shall see if i would need to apply for cc. If i charge to my debit, it will auto deduct and its on the start of the month. Wanna get higher average balance.. lol.

I had set my OCBC 360 to deduct automatically for Singtel bills below $150. I believe that is considered as recurring payment?

I wouldn't count on the branch ppl knowing anything.

For great eastern, you will need to check with great eastern cos I understand some insurance companies only accept cards from certain banks. I suggest you just use debit card and internet banking to pay your phone and cc bills and stick with OCBC 365 if it gives you good rebate on your plan.

i got the 3 bonus interest but amount seemed lower than expected.

if my a/c was opened on 7 Jan 16, but my ADB over 31 days is $60k (incl $0 for first 6 days), would interest be pro-rated ?

afternote: based on my computation, the interest was pro-rated for 25 days only.

Take note new account holders, that interest for first month will be pro-rated !

Yes. they prorate based on the number of the days in the month.. So Feb, you'll see less interest as it's only 29 days

I just opened this account. Hope to receive all the 3 interests next month like all the folks here. Closed my OCBC 360 Acc and move all the funds over.

Just take note that for your first month, the bonus interest is pro-rated. If opened today, you only get Bonus interest on 18 days of Feb.

And based on T&C, the AEB is based on 29 days (entire month), not 18 days from account opening. Double whammy.

Pls correct me if I am wrong.

hahaha u are wrong! You only got money in account for 18 days, so u only entitled to 18 days interest, there is no prorating at all. If you only got money in account for 18 days, say 60k, it is based on 60k, no different for calculation, hahaha
